realme C55 launched in Indonesia, and will also launch in Europe, expected to launch in India this month itself
Yesterday, as previously promised, realme launched its highly-anticipated realme C55 budget smartphone in Indonesia. Why is it hyped for? Well, mainly because realme has copied or say taken inspiration from Apple and its Dynamic Island feature on iPhone 14 Pro series and implemented the same via software on this new realme C55.
realme calls this Mini Capsule and much like Dynamic Island, it will show important status at the side of the notch like a tiny bar. This Mini Capsule can show low battery life status, charging status, even data consumption, and fitness tracking as per a teaser, however, not all of them will be available at launch.
realme C55 Specifications
The realme C55 features a 6.72″ FullHD+ 90Hz display with a peak brightness of 680 nits and a centrally-located punch hole for its 8MP front-facing camera. The Helio G88 SoC provides power for the Realme C55, which will ship with Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. Both 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB of RAM and storage options will be available.
You will also get a virtual Memory expansion option of up to 6GB (for the 6GB RAM variant), while the latter (8GB RAM variant) will support up to 8 GB. Both models will have a dedicated microSD card slot for up to 1TB of storage expansion.
The realme C55 will have a dual camera arrangement on its back, with a 64MP camera taking centre stage. Also, it will include a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging, which is a significant improvement over the C35’s 18W charging and a first for a C series smartphone.
Other notable features of the realme C55 include a 3.5mm headphone connector, a USB-C port, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. In addition, it will include Dirac’s audio tuning and an NFC chip. The C55 is 7.89mm thick and comes in Sunshower and Rainy Night as color options.
In terms of pricing, this smartphone has a starting price of IDR2,499,000 or $160 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB variant, which in India could cost Rs.13k and the 8GB + 256GB variant costs IDR2,999,000 or $195 i.e. Rs.16k. So, when this realme C55 comes to India, this could a really nice option at budget.
