According to recent media reports, the English Premier League club Chelsea has offered the Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid to sign their German forward Timo Werner. Now, the big question is, does one of the most successful European clubs need the 26-year-old forward?
German forward Timo Werner has served for Chelsea in the last two seasons. Werner is reportedly considering leaving the West London club as he wants more game time. Though he has a contract with the club till 2025 summer, the Blues are ready to sell him in case of a strong bid.
While we are now hearing some reports of some top clubs’ interests in Werner, Chelsea have reportedly made an offer to Real Madrid on Werner.
Real Madrid’s present status in the forward
The record UEFA Champions League winners (14 times) and Spanish La Liga winners (35 times), Real Madrid, have some top forwards. Apart from the experienced French star Karim Benzema, who was in an insane form last season, they also have the young in-form forwards like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.
There is no doubt that Los Blancos still wanted young talented forwards this season despite they have more forwards like Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio and Mariano. Moreover, the departures of Gareth Bale, Luka Jovic and Borja Mayoral in this summer transfer window have strengthened the chances of new forward signings.
As the Whites missed out on signing French star Kylian Mbappe early this summer transfer window, they are reportedly looking for other options for the forwards.
Though the Spanish club has already signed some players, they haven’t added any new forward to the squad this season yet.
The possibilities: Real Madrid and Timo Werner
The major point is that Los Blancos are possibly looking for additional forwards as they already have the first choice forward (Karim Benzema) along with proper substitutes. In this case, Werner may have a personal problem as his goal isn’t likely to fit in Real Madrid to get more game time. English Premier League club Newcastle United and Italian Serie A giants Juventus are also strongly interested in Werner.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are patiently waiting to bring any young talents into the forward line. In this case, they may not show a big interest in the 26-year-old Werner.
