Sergio Ramos is a topic that is gaining popularity among football fanatics with every passing week. There are no developments between Real Madrid and him regarding an extension of his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season.
The only one that can change the situation is Madrid President Florentino Perez. Proposal from the club is still the same and Ramos’ demands are still unchanged. They’re offering one year but he wants two more. Moreover, no agreement has been found about the player’s salary either.
It is a very complicated situation but at the same time, it’s not 100% sure that he’s leaving. He’s still hoping to stay at the club, and the relation between Perez and Ramos is special since he is the club captain and has led them to silverware time and time again.
Paris is still the only club in talks to sign him potentially. The issue is the length of the contract and 10% of the salary that will be deducted due to the pandemic situation.
Elsewhere, Lucas Vasquez is also in a similar, complicated situation and is being approached by other clubs. Raphel Varane situation could also be crucial next summer. Real want to keep him but they will have to negotiate with other clubs who could bid for the player since the Frenchman will only have a year’s worth of contract left.
This will be the right moment for Madrid to sell him if that is what they want, or to try and negotiate a contract agreement with the centre-back.
