Just as Arda Güler has been declared fit for his full debut, Real Madrid find themselves without both of their first-choice wingers – Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. Both have picked up injuries while on international duty with Brazil, and while the former’s 2023 is over, the latter is undergoing a scan to determine the extent of his knee injury.
After his injury prior to the international break, Jude Bellingham could return to the starting line-up. But, Carlo Ancelotti will have to use other options for the positions out wide, or opt for a different tactic altogether.
Real Madrid’s injury list grows as Rodrygo ruled out with knee injury
Here is a list of players that are currently unavailable for Los Blancos through injury:
- Thibaut Courtois
- Eder Militao
- Vinicius Jr
- Rodrygo
- Aurelien Tchouameni
- Eduardo Camavinga
- Kepa Arrizabalaga
Camavinga picked up a knee injury during the international break as well, while training with France. On the other hand, Kepa Arrizabalaga has an adductor issue and Andriy Lunin will start the game against Cadiz this weekend. Real Madrid welcomed back Dani Ceballos from injury, with the midfielder now fit to play.
Ancelotti might opt to use Fede Valverde out on the right, as he has in the past, with Joselu also being given a chance to start in the absence of both prolific attackers.
