The delay in the announcement is due to the quarantine rules that Varane will have to follow in England. This will delay his medical assessment by a few days, but once he passes, he will be unveiled as a new Manchester United player. Varane informed the club that he wanted a change of pace, and refused to negotiate a new deal with a year remaining on his current contract which forced Madrid to let him go.

Madrid have lost both their starting centre-backs now that Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane are out the exit door. Manchester United, on the other hand, have laid down their intentions of challenging for the title with the acquisition of Jadon Sancho, and now, Varane.

The official bid was accepted by the Spanish giants yesterday, and the two parties are preparing the final paperworks for the transfer to go through.
