The hunt to recruit Karim Adeyemi, the German wonder from RB Salzburg, is heating up. The 19-year-old, who has been on Barcelona’s radar for some time, has also emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid, their arch-rivals.
About the German Prodigy
So far, Adeyemi has had a remarkable 2021. The 19-year-old made his senior debut for Die Mannschaft and scored on his debut after helping Germany win the U-21 European Championships earlier this year.
At the same time, Adeyemi has been unstoppable for RB Salzburg this season, scoring 15 goals and adding two assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. The youngster’s form for club and country has made him a highly sought-after transfer target.
Barcelona has been pursuing the adolescent striker for some time, with rumors claiming that the Catalans are willing to make a €40 million offer for his services. However, they will now face competition from Real Madrid, who consider the 19-year-old as a less expensive alternative to key target Erling Haaland.
Signing Up for €50 million
The Borussia Dortmund star is set to command a hefty fee next season, with Manchester United reportedly prepared to pay €220 million for his services. As a result, Los Blancos have sought out alternatives, with Adeyemi emerging as one of them. Apart from Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Dortmund, Adeyemi is also being followed by Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 19-year-old Salzburg ace was valued at €20 million at the start of the season. However, Dortmund’s €35 million offer and the heightened competition for his signature appear to have upped his value, with the kid now expected to cost approximately €50 million. With the number of clubs interested in signing Adeyemi growing by the day, Barcelona will face a tough battle in luring the German marksman away from RB Salzburg.
