RC17 Is NOT Delayed — Ram Charan & Sukumar’s Dream Reunion Gets a Much-Needed Clarity in 2026!

The moment RC17 was announced, Telugu film fans went into a frenzy. Ram Charan reuniting with Sukumar — the same duo behind the all-time blockbuster Rangasthalam — is genuinely the stuff of dreams. But swirling script rumours had started raising eyebrows. Now, the truth is finally out, and it’s more reassuring than you’d think.

RC17 — Everything You Need to Know Right Now

What Was the Confusion About?

It all started when RC17’s co-writer and Sukumar’s associate director, Hussain Sha Kiran, made an ambiguous statement at a press event — saying two stories were being developed, and the team hadn’t decided which one to go with. Naturally, that triggered speculation about delays and script troubles.

But here’s the real picture: Hussain has now clarified that he was talking about two versions of the same story, not two separate stories. He confirmed that the script for RC17 is already locked and the team is fully focused on shaping it into an impactful experience before production begins.

This is actually very on-brand for Sukumar — the man spent years perfecting Pushpa: The Rise, and the results spoke for themselves at the global box office. Ram Charan’s Roadmap: Peddi First, Then RC17

Right now, Ram Charan is deep in promotions and post-production for Peddi, a rural sports drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu, and Jagapathi Babu — and is set to release on April 30, 2026.

Once Peddi is out, Ram Charan will officially shift gears to RC17. The producer has also confirmed that pre-production is already underway, keeping things right on schedule.

Given that Rangasthalam (2018) remains one of the most celebrated Telugu films of the decade, the bar for RC17 couldn’t be higher. For more on the Ram Charan – Sukumar cinematic legacy, check out TechnoSports for all upcoming Telugu film updates.
