Ravichandran Ashwin : In a dramatic twist of events, the Indian cricket team received a major boost on the fourth day of the ongoing third Test against England as offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin made a triumphant return to the squad in Rajkot. Ashwin, who had left the city abruptly after the second day’s play due to personal reasons, rejoined the team at the start of the third session on Day 4, signaling his readiness to contribute to India’s cause once again.

Let’s have a look into more details : Ravichandran Ashwin

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed Ashwin’s return, expressing delight at having the seasoned spinner back in action. The statement from the BCCI emphasized Ashwin’s commitment to the team’s cause despite facing challenging personal circumstances, underscoring his dedication to the sport and his teammates.

Ashwin’s return to the field came as a pleasant surprise for fans and players alike, especially after his absence had raised concerns about India’s bowling attack. However, with his timely comeback, India’s hopes of clinching victory in the Test match received a significant boost.

One of the most remarkable aspects of Ashwin’s return was his immediate availability to bowl, despite having spent an entire day off the field. This expedited return was made possible by the umpires’ decision to waive the requirement of penalty time, considering Ashwin’s unique situation.

The fourth day’s play saw India asserting their dominance over England, with Ashwin’s presence adding to the team’s momentum. Despite his absence on Day 3, India’s bowlers delivered a stellar performance, led by Mohammed Siraj, who claimed four wickets to bowl out England for 319.

Ashwin’s return also provided a morale boost to the Indian batting lineup, as the team extended their lead to a commanding 556 runs before declaring their innings during the second session of play. With Ashwin back in the fold, India’s chances of securing victory in the Test match looked increasingly promising.

As cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the outcome of the third Test, one thing is clear: Ravichandran Ashwin’s return has injected renewed energy and determination into the Indian team, setting the stage for an exhilarating conclusion to the match.
