  1. Most Five-Wicket Hauls At Home

Ashwin has now surpassed Anil Kumble to become the Indian bowler with the most five-wicket hauls at home. He achieved this feat while playing his 55th Test at home, which is eight quicker than Kumble, who did it in his 63rd Test on Indian soil. The off-spinner now has 26 five-wicket hauls at home.

  1. Joint-Highest Five-Wicket Hauls With James Anderson

With his 32nd five-wicket haul in Tests, Ashwin has now equalled England veteran James Anderson. They are now tied as the players with the joint-sixth-highest five-wicket hauls in Tests.

  1. Second-Highest Five-Wicket Hauls At Home

Ashwin now holds the record for the second-highest five-wicket hauls at home, behind Sri Lankan spin great Muttiah Muralitharan, who has achieved this feat 45 times. Ashwin is tied with another Sri Lanka spin great, Rangana Herath, who has also picked up five wickets in an inning 26 times at home.

  1. Joint-Leading Wicket-Taker In Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Ashwin has become the joint-leading wicket-taker in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, with 113 wickets. He is now tied with Australia’s Nathan Lyon. However, Ashwin achieved this feat in 22 games as compared to Lyon, who picked up the same number of wickets in 26 games.

  1. Leading Wicket-Taker Among Indian Bowlers Against Australia

Ashwin has now become the leading wicket-taker among Indian bowlers against Australia. He surpassed Kapil Dev’s record of 111 wickets by picking up his 112th wicket in the first innings of the 4th Test.
