Ravana Roars, Ram Rises: Top 5 Moments That Make the Ramayana Trailer Sacred Cinema

The newly released Ramayana trailer has struck a nerve across India, and it’s not hard to see why. For millions, Ram, Sita, and Ravana aren’t just characters on screen — they’re woven into the country’s cultural fabric. The trailer leans into that reverence, and a handful of moments stand out as genuinely unforgettable.

The 5 Standout Moments

1. Ravana’s Rise to Power

Yash commands the screen as Ravana, introduced as ruler of the three worlds. His declaration of “Ravana Raj” to a massive gathering of followers instantly signals the scale of his power — and just how far he’s willing to go to hold onto it.

2. Lord Vishnu’s Incredible Appearance

Right after Ravana’s intro, the trailer shifts gears completely. Lord Vishnu appears in full celestial form, flanked by Sheshnag, holding a lotus and conch shell, as narration explains how he manifests whenever evil threatens the world. It’s a calm, almost serene contrast to Ravana’s aggression — and one of the trailer’s most visually arresting frames, echoing the enduring imagery of Vishnu found throughout Hindu tradition.

3. The Lotus-Petal Meditation Sequence

A quieter, more poetic moment follows: Ranbir Kapoor’s Ram meditating beside his brother Lakshman under their guru’s guidance. As Ram sinks deeper into meditation, giant lotus petals bloom around him, prompting Lakshman to bow instinctively. It’s a subtle way of showing divinity — not through action, but through presence.

4. Sita Wielding a Sword

This one catches viewers off guard. Sai Pallavi’s Sita is traditionally remembered for grace and quiet resilience, but ancient texts also describe her as capable, resourceful, and connected to nature — someone who could defend herself when it mattered. This brief glimpse hints at that lesser-explored side of her character.

5. Ram Invoking the Brahmastra

The trailer closes on its biggest visual swing. Ram invokes the Brahmastra, declaring “Ye Ram ke yug ka aarambh hai,” as fire and earth swirl into a blazing cyclone. It’s the perfect high note to end on — a clear flex of the film’s visual effects and a fitting cliffhanger.

What’s Still Under Wraps?

Interestingly, the trailer holds back on some major reveals — Sunny Deol’s Hanuman and Faisal Malik’s Kumbhkarna are both kept hidden. Rather than overexposing the film, this restraint builds anticipation for what’s still to come. Add in a score by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, and the trailer’s emotional pull becomes even harder to shake.
