Reports state that the Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez, has rejected his offer to manage Leeds United. The Real Madrid Castilla head coach has turned down this offer following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch. He is reportedly iffy about the timing as he doesn’t want to get engaged with the wrong club or even at the wrong time. He is fine with biding his time and continue with his current position with the Real Madrid junior side.
Clubs having interest in Raul
Raul has been doing remarkably well in his current position which has eventually attracted several clubs to shake hands with him. Apart from the Premier League other La Liga and Bundesliga sides have interest for Raul Gonzalez too. His growth in charge of the young side of the La Liga giants has attracted interest of Schalke too, where he has played and even attained a cult-hero status.
Raul has been decent with the current side he’s working on and they are undefeated since the last 12 games. Primarily it is not about the results but it is all about the way the get the results. And they’ve been working hard, practising well, and the results are in front of everyone.
The higher authority is highly impressed with the determination and work ethic that Raul has put into his boys, and he is preparing them to perform in the top flight. And some of them received promotions to the first team recently. Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t have any problem either to give chances to the young bloods, and Raul is playing a significant role in the process.
Rejecting the Leeds’ offer
However the benefit of the Real Madrid’s junior team hasn’t been the same with Leeds, and not will be, as Raul rejected their of managing the club. It would have been an opportunity to test the waters of the primary team management but it seems like Gonzales prefers to remain in the position he is now.
