The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made its decision to schedule the knockout matches of Ranji Trophy 2022 in Bengaluru.
The knockout stages of the ongoing Indian red-ball competition will be held from May 30 to June 26. BCCI has decided Bengaluru be the host of these matches due to favourable weather conditions.
BCCI has made this call “internally” considering the weather situation in Bengaluru in the month of June. The national cricket board will keep in mind that the monsoon sets in the Karnataka capital only around July.
Monsoon will have an effect during the month of June that could be massive destruction in the smooth execution of the games. However, it’s seen that rain sets only in the capital of Karnataka but by then, the competition will be over. BCCI did make a fair decision.

The knockout matches for the Ranji Trophy will be held in Bengaluru due to the favourable weather conditions. The matches will be played mainly in the month of June, in the monsoon season. However, Monsoon sets in Bengaluru.
The day-night Test match between India and Sri Lanka will be held in Chinnaswamy stadium. The Indian team whitewashed the opposition in the test series.
57 of the 64 games have been completed after a late start due to the increasing Omicron cases in India.
The matches were held across nine places – Rajkot, Cuttack, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Trivandrum, Delhi, Haryana, Guwahati, and Kolkata.
