Ram Charan Called Jasprit Bumrah a Footballer at Peddi Song Launch — And the Internet Has Thoughts

Even megastars have facepalm moments. Ram Charan, one of Tollywood’s biggest names, found himself in a hilariously awkward spot at the Peddi song launch event in Bhopal — and the internet is absolutely roasting him for it.

What Exactly Happened?

At the Peddi song launch event in Bhopal, Ram Charan was asked to describe well-known cricket icons in a few words. He handled most of them smoothly:

Yes, really. When asked about Jasprit Bumrah, Ram Charan said he loved football and praised Bumrah for “pushing football so far” — a jaw-dropping mix-up that left the crowd stunned. As if that wasn’t enough, he also addressed Bhopal as “Bihar” while showering love on the crowd.

Ram Charan’s Apology — Graceful or Hilarious?

To his credit, the RRR star didn’t let it fester. He took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: “I’m genuinely so forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to Jasprit Bumrah Ji for the mix-up — it was a genuine human error in the middle of all the excitement and the crowd. I truly respect you, and I am a huge fan of your game.”

Honestly? That’s a pretty classy way to own it

Peddi — The Film at the Centre of It All

Peddi is an upcoming sports drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana, set to release on June 4, 2026, in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. The event also featured the launch of its new song Hellallaho, with the full cast in attendance — including Janhvi Kapoor, AR Rahman, Ravi Kishan, and Divyenndu. pinkvillapinkvilla

Jasprit Bumrah, for the record, is India’s premier fast bowler — not a footballer. For more Bollywood and South Indian film updates, follow TechnoSports.
