Rajasthan Royals have Signed the World No 1 T20 Bowler Tabraiz Shamsi for Phase Two of IPL 2021

Rajasthan Royals have announced their latest addition in the form of South African left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi for the remaining fixtures of IPL 2021. Shamsi, currently ranked number in the number one spot in the world T20 bowlers list is included in the squad as a replacement to Andrew Tye.

The Australian fast bowler has pulled out of phase two of IPL 2021 due to personal reasons as he felt the need to spend more time with his family after continuously playing for his country and different T20 leagues for a year. As a result, this will be Shamsi’s second stint in the IPL as he had represented the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016.

During his stint with the Bangalore side, he took three wickets in four games with an economy rate of 9.18. Shamsi did not feature for RCB after the 2016 season and was not a part of any team in the IPL. However, after his underwhelming performances at RCB, Shamsi added more skills to his arsenal and became one of the main bowlers in the South African lineup.

Shamsi is a great addition to the Royals squad because he has a tremendous amount of experience in T20. Altogether the South African spinner has played 163 T20 games and has taken 183 wickets at an average of 22.42 and with an economy rate of 7.18. Therefore he will be an valuable asset who can turn the tide for the Royals team at any given moment.

Tabraiz Shamsi will join a pool of wrist spinners in the Rajasthan Royals Squad

Following the signing of the World’s number one T20 bowler, Rajasthan Royals will have a dilemma to pick a spinner in their bowling attack. Owing to the fact, that the Royals squad has leg spinners Mayank Markande, Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag.
