Qualcomm Set to Unveil New Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 on March 18

Qualcomm has announced an upcoming event to introduce its latest flagship Snapdragon chipsets. The anticipated unveiling includes the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chips, both considered the company’s newest System on Chips (SoCs). These chipsets are said to share the same architecture as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which debuted in October 2023. Notably, speculations suggest that the upcoming Realme GT Neo 6 series will incorporate both of these upcoming processors.

The event announcement came through a Weibo post (via GizmoChina), where Qualcomm stated (as per Google translation), “The new Snapdragon flagship is about to be released […] Wisdom is in the core. Get ready, for the Snapdragon flagship product launch event on March 18. There’s a buzz about the phrase “Wisdom’s in the core” hinting at the inclusion of intelligence (AI) features in the upcoming chipsets.

While Qualcomm hasn’t officially announced the chipsets reports from GizmoChina suggest that we might see the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC being unveiled. These chips have been making rounds in speculations with leaks pointing towards smartphones that could potentially showcase them. The rumored specs for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset mention a powerful CPU setup with cores like Cortex X4 clocked at 3.01GHz, four Cortex A720 cores at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex A520 cores at 1.84GHz along with an Adreno 735 GPU.

Likewise, there’s talk about the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC packing a CPU configuration featuring a Cortex X4 core running at 2.9GHz four Cortex A720 cores at 2.6GHz, and three Cortex A520 cores at 1.9GHz paired with an Adreno 732 GPU. It is believed that both these chipsets will share architecture similarities, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

According to an update, the Realme GT Neo 6 lineup might be one of the smartphones to incorporate the latest Qualcomm processors. The base model could come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC while the Realme GT Neo 6 SE may sport the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chip. Additionally, upcoming devices, like the iQOO Neo 9 OnePlus Ace 3V, and Vivo Pad 3 are also expected to utilize these processors.
