Qualcomm’s next flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 875 based on TSMC’s 5nm node will be coming next year and should give better performance and higher clock speeds. New reports have come out that the new SoC will support higher charging speeds up to 100W fast charging.

Obviously, gaming smartphones will get much more powerful with a lot of new features and better performance with respect to CPU and GPU but a tweet from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station says that these upcoming gaming smartphones in Q1, 2021 will support 100W+ fast charging.

At present, the tipster believes that already three of the four domestic game phone manufacturers in China are testing and promoting the commercialization of 100-watt fast charging. Also the tipster says these smartphones will have large battery as well.

Also the upcoming Snapdragon 875 will feature the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem on smartphones that is expected to make 5G speeds much better, helpful for gaming as well. Also smartphones capable of implementing that high amount of charging speeds needs to have proper cooling solutions.

Xiaomi previously showed its 100W Super Charge Turbo technology in 2019, revealing its technology that could charge a 4000mAh battery in just 17 minutes and Vivo shared their tech as well. So, it’s obvious that most likely in 2021 we will see these technologies in actual use in gaming smartphones and in flagships as well.
