Qualcomm has suffered defeat after defeat at the hands of Apple’s Bionic Line-up. The company, which was once a leader in smartphone processors, is now pushed to be the second best in performance. However, the manufacturer is looking to make a comeback with its upcoming Snapdragon 875.

A leaker by the name Digital Chat Station has posted the Master Lu score sheet stating the first-ever benchmark results of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC. And the results look pretty promising.

Qualcomm is pushing the 1+3+4 CPU core layout with its snapdragon 875, and the Prime core of the SoC runs at 2.84 GHz; it is, however, below the 3.09 GHz clock speed of its 865+ chip. The roots of the snapdragon 875 have been upgraded and hence, delivers higher performance than the 865. In the benchmark results, the 875 also beat the new Kirin 9000 by quite a margin.

The Snapdragon 875 chip’s primary advantage isn’t limited to just its GPU in which its performance is matched with that of the Kirin SoC. The battle is actually between the Mali-G78 MP24 Qualcomm’s very own custom Adreno GPU’s.

The benchmark score of the Master Lu score sheet is in favor of the Snapdragon 875, and it is only because of the higher CPU performance. However, it is worth noting that the engineering device used to test the new SoC had 12 GB of faster RAM. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro, on the other hand, had quicker storage.

The difference in the GPU’s performance is similar to that indicated by the AnTuTu score sheet. All these are just scores tested on the engineering devices offering custom specs by the manufacturer and must be taken with plenty of water. But once the actual device hits the market, the real performance results of the snapdragon 875 will be unveiled.
