Qualcomm, Nokia, and Elisa are about to break the World's 5G Speed record in Finland

As per a recent report, there are three companies who claim that they will break the world’s 5G speed record: Qualcomm, Nokia, and the carrier Elisa. In terms of the 4G/LTE connectivity, the best speed it can achieve is 100 megabits per second (Mbps). On the other hand, the latest 5G connectivity can achieve, even more, multiple gigabits per second (Gbps). Recently, the partnership of Qualcomm, Nokia, and Elisa have abled to deliver a connection speed at its best 8Gbps over mmWave 5G, credit goes to Elisa’s commercial-grade infrastructure and incorporating Nokia’s AirScale radios.

It was not 8Gbps in a single reference. After equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem RF system, it has delivered 4Gbps each to 2 reference devices. This system has a second-generation QTM525 mmWave antenna. Elisa has a 26GHz 5G spectrum, in which each radio used an 800MHz band.

The senior vice president and president of Qualcomm Europe/MEA, QUALCOMM Europe, Inc. Enrico Salvatori said, “We are incredibly proud of this collaboration on this landmark event, which represents a significant milestone for 5G mmWave. Qualcomm Technologies’ research and development efforts to drive the next generation of wireless connectivity, along with our work with Elisa and Nokia, have made this milestone a commercial reality. The throughputs achieved today show the true potential for mmWave deployments and we are excited to continue collaborating with industry leaders to make 5G mmWave a commercial reality.”

Now as per Qualcomm, many high-bandwidth applications will be able to grab the advantages of this high-speed internet (better than normal 5G). They are also working in augmented- and virtual reality (AR or VR) gaming and entertainment; ultra-high-res game or video downloads.
