It’s a quite long time since we have got rumours on the PS5 Pro specs and every time we have to take it with a grain of salt. We have some new specs again, and now according to the insider, these are real.
Well, every time we hear the same thing, the rumours or leaks are real. But on the other hand, we didn’t even have the official announcement of the gaming console yet. So, players always question the authenticity of these rumours.
Again, we are at the same point and now we have to discuss the newly released PS5 Pro specs. So, without any further delays let’s dive in.
New PS5 Pro Specs
We all have been hearing about the PS5 Pro specs for some time, just like its features, hardware and many other updates. However, Sony hasn’t even commented on the existence of the PlayStation 5 Pro.
This can be its policy to make things mysteriously engaging until the time the gaming console is ready to launch and then surprise players at once. Whatever it may be, from time to time we do listen some rumours or leaks about PS5 Pro specs.
Once again we have something on the gaming console, and this time the insider says that its real. Recently YouTuber Moore’s Law Is Dead shared a new video and in that he detailed the specification of the PS5 Pro.
Now, we all know that when it comes to the hardware related rumours, the YouTuber is not that good. So, everyone is suspicious here and doubting the veracity of the leaked PS5 Pro specs.
Adding a twist to the entire, famous gaming insider Tom Henderson has now confirmed that the PS5 Pro specs detailed in the video and indeed real. Hence, it’s worth going through the PS5 Pro specs here.
- Larger GPU with faster memory, providing 45% improved performance in rasterized rendering;
- Custom machine learning architecture that supports 300 TOPS (Trillions of Operation Per Second) at 8–bit;
- Massively improved ray tracing architecture that should deliver 2 – 3x speedup over the regular PS5, with peaks of 4x;
- The ML architecture was built to enable the so–called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscalling technique. The leaked PS5 Pro specs described it as Sony’s version of Multi Frame Super Resolution based on the PlayStation Machine Learning (PSML) algorithm. According to the leaked PS5 Pro specs, PSSR currently supports up to 4K, but there are plans to add 8K support;
- The document also includes an image comparison with TAAU and AMD FSR 2, reportedly showing that PSSR offers super image quality;
- PSSR is an ML – enhanced version of Temporal Anti – aliasing Upscalling (TAAU) that requires similar inputs to NVIDIA DLSS or AMD FSR and fully supports HDR pipelines. Moreover, no per – game training is required, just like with the latest version of DLSS. The document further goes on to say PSSR requires just 250 MB of the PS5 Pro’s memory, with a current rendering cost of 2 milliseconds to upscale from Full HD to 4K, although optimization is still ongoing.
So, this time we can see that the PS5 Pro specs are really very detailed, and can be true. However, we can’t say anything for sure, until we get official announcement from Sony.
