After a decade long, Ubisoft has confirmed the return of Prince Of Persia. Though it not a revival of the series but its a remake of the Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, the most popular and iconic adventure game.
In Ubisoft Forward, the remake of the game was announced. The game will hit the market on 21st January 2021 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There has been no date confirmation of the game released date for the upcoming nextgen consoles like Xbox Series X and Play Station 5 till now.
This is the first time Ubisoft has tried to remake a game and for their attempt, they choose to remake is their iconic adventure of 2003 i.e. Prince Of Persia Sands Of Time. Maybe by seeing the success of the other game remakes, Ubisoft has come to this decision to make a remake of their own game.
The Prince of Persia series was dropped off 10 years ago after the release of Prince Of Persia The Forgotten sands which were released on 10th May 2010. There were two main reasons for the downfall of the series. Firstly, the game was very popular and loved by the gamers til the Prince Of Persia The Thrones(3rd sequel of the series) but after that, the two more sequels were launched but they didn’t perform well in the market. So, the popularity got declined, and Ubisoft diverted its attention to other game projects. The second reason is the rise of the Assassin’s Creed series. The series got popularity and fans pretty fast which also led to the down of the Prince Of Persia Series.
