AMD Radeon RX 6800 series review: The best AMD GPUs for gaming & productivity

Any PC enthusiasts wishing to upgrade their graphics cards have had a difficult time in the last 18 months. The greatest graphics cards have had exorbitant GPU pricing, with many cards reaching over three times their actual MSRP.

But, in 2022, GPU cost has been steadily declining, and we’re now at a point where many graphics cards are genuinely in stock at prices that are near to MSRP. There is even a handful that is selling for less than the MSRP.

As you might expect, cards with higher MSRPs at launch are more easily accessible at MSRP, whereas GPUs with “too good to be true” prices are still marked up a bit. However, spending a little more for a third-party factory overclocked card isn’t out of the ordinary, as these are typically marked up by 10–20 percent over the standard versions.

Some AMD graphics cards are also selling at less than the original MSRP

There are also a few AMD cards, the RX 6600 XT and RX 6600, where you can get some models for less than AMD’s MSRP, while a few others are virtually being offered at MSRP. It’s a significant improvement over just a few months ago.

We don’t expect miners to support declining prices unless something spectacular happens, with cryptocurrency mining profitability on the decline and ‘The Merge’ still rumored to be coming to Ethereum.

What’s particularly intriguing is how well AMD’s current “midrange” graphics cards perform in comparison to Nvidia’s. Only the RX 5500 XT 4GB beats the RX 6600, RX 6600 XT, and RX 6700 XT for first place. While you may argue that the RX 5500 XT is the best card, you’ll have to deal with eBay and a used card, and eBay pricing is more volatile. The RTX 3050 is Nvidia’s greatest bargain for an RTX 30-series card, placing sixth overall and just ahead of the RTX 2060, which you can get as a new card for a few dollars extra if you buy it directly from EVGA.

at the end of the day, Only you can decide how much you’re willing to pay and when your graphics card has to be upgraded. Unfortunately, budget-conscious customers were generally out of luck throughout the second half of 2020 and the first part of 2021, and it’s still difficult to locate truly good budget options now.
