We are hearing news about the PlayStation 6 and the next Xbox after IGN accessed some court documents. In the background, there is a whole story going on, which is kind of interesting to know.
Well, we all know about the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. Now, in a legal case regarding this matter, Microsoft has stated its expectation for the official release of the next Xbox.
It is supposed to be in the year 2028, and it’s worth noticing here that Microsoft has used the word ‘expected’. This means that it is working on its next-generating gaming console, and it can be released in the year 2028. But till now, we don’t have a release window for the next Xbox.
On the other hand, Sony has recently revealed in documents that the Call of Duty exclusively on the PlayStation console. In these documents, as highlighted by IGN, Sony is expected to launch its PlayStation 6 in 2028.
Further, the report by IGN highlights that this commitment can extend beyond the expected launch period. However, we can say that both tech giants, Sony and Microsoft are planning to launch their gaming machines in the same year.
Well, that’s not the first time, both have done that, as previously also they have done it. For example, Sony released the PlayStation 5 in 2020 just two before Microsoft revealed its new Xbox series.
Also, there are plenty of examples of when both companies launched their gaming consoles same year. Apart from the reports by IGN, there are plenty more instances when both the tech giants have hinted at the alleged launch of the PlayStation 6 and the next Xbox.
However, till now, none of them has announced a release window for their gaming console. Nor did they have spoken about the features of their upcoming gaming machines.
