AC Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina has now joined Lazio. He seemed interested to return to his homeland Spain and was on the verge of joining Valencia but he became frustrated with the lack of progress with Valencia. So he has now decided to join Lazio.

The Spanish goalkeeper will turn 38 in a few days. After his loan spell with Aston Villa, he returned to San Siro but was on the look for a new club. He has now joined Lazio on a two-year contract.

According to earlier reports, it seemed his move to Valencia was almost a done deal. But there have been recent reports of Reina’s frustration at the delays in getting the contract resolved with the LaLiga club.

But now it has been confirmed that Pepe Reina has agreed on terms for a return to Serie A with Lazio. It will be Reina’s third Serie A club after playing for Napoli and AC Milan before.

Lazio has qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 13 years. They needed a reliable understudy for their main goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. They could certainly make use of his vast experience from all over Europe.
