Despite a spell of turmoil at the club, Barcelona’s future looks in good hands with the likes of Ansu Fati, Trincao, Ronald Araujo, Riqui Puig and Pedri at the club.
With the absence of Coutinho during the hotly-anticipated Champions League match against Juventus, Ronald Koeman gave a chance to youngster Pedri to make a mark in midweek.
And the youngster seized the opportunity given to him by his coach as he put on a good display against the Italian Champions, ensuring that his team came away with all three points on the night.
Pedri already made his mark in the Champions League in the 5-1 battering of Ferencvaros as he got onto the scoresheet. However, the game against Juventus was a much harder test for the teenager.
Credit must be given to Koeman to believe in the youngster despite losing El Clasico, which Pedri also started in. His game can take Barcelona to the next level along with the legion of talented youngsters already present at Camp Nou.
Arguably the most impressive part about Pedri’s game is his decision making and his ability to judge practical situations with the maturity that is beyond his years.
Koeman has noticed the youngster’s brilliance and has decided to give him minutes on the pitch. While Ansu Fati is the poster boy for the future of Barcelona’s offence, Pedri could be the dark horse that takes the club even further when the Blaugrana need him to deliver.
Barcelona apparently have set up a plan so that the midfielder can gain muscle mass which can add to his physical presence in the game. Moreover, he is only 17 and has some of the best players around him to learn from.
If he keeps his head down and his focus on the game, there is no reason as to why a youngster having the talent that Pedri does, cannot become a class act in his prime years.
