Manchester City were discussing a move for Paul Pogba in the summer, with the player’s contract running out at the end of the season. Manchester United have decided to let their most expensive signing of all-time walk out on a free, and he has been in talks with their local rivals in recent weeks.
But, the World Cup winning midfielder has told the Sky Blues that he will be playing elsewhere next season. Several other clubs are also interested in signing him, such as Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
Paul Pogba won’t be moving to Manchester City
Pogba is Manchester United’s most expensive signing of all-time, having returned to Old Trafford for £89million in 2016. However, his signing has been quite underwhelming considering the expectations that fans had for him.
He has shown his worth on several occasions throughout his career with Manchester United. But, he has been inconsistent throughout his time and is now set to end his spell with the club at the end of the season.
Despite all of this, the club has offered Paul Pogba several contract proposals but he has not accepted any of them. The months of silence between the two parties have almost convinced the club that he will be leaving when his contract runs out.
The Frenchman needs a place where he is appreciated to perform at his best, like he did at Juventus. At this point in his career, he needs to find a team that plays to his strengths and would provide a suitable environment for him.
