Juventus manager Max Allegri has offered a new update on Paul Pogba’s return from injury.
And as things stand, there is no development in his fitness. As a result, he is still a long way from making his second debut for the club, having signed as a free agent this past summer after leaving Manchester United for a second time.
Allegri still doesn’t know when Paul Pogba will be available
“Paul Pogba is not available,” Allegri said before Juventus’ Serie A clash with Fiorentina this weekend, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
“He can’t be part of the team, I’m sorry but this is the reality now. He’s still injured and I don’t know when he will be back. I’m waiting for him.”
The midfielder is yet to play a single competitive game in 10 months since multiple setbacks have prevented him from being cleared. And if things don’t improve quickly, he could end the season without making any appearances at all – in spite of being one of the top earners at the club.
He will have three years left on his contract at the end of the season, but with his poor fitness record, there is a chance it could be terminated early. However, as things stand, Juventus are not considering any such decision.
The Bianconeri are currently in mid-table, following their 15-point deduction due to false accounting.
