The Italian club giants Juventus have received a huge blow before the beginning of the new season as the 29-year-old French midfielder Paul Pogba is suffering from a knee injury.
Pogba underwent radiological examinations after he had knee pain. The medical test revealed that Pogba is suffering from a lesion of the lateral meniscus. Juventus’ official website has confirmed it as the website also confirmed that the injured French footballer wasn’t travelling with the team to Dallas for the pre-season matches.
Now, Pogba has to go to a specialist orthopedic for consultation on his injury. There is no clarification on the official website about his recovery time. But it has surely raised a big concern for I Bianconeri.
La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian daily newspaper, has claimed that Pogba may have to undergo surgery which can force him to stay away from the game for at least two months.
Paul Pogba just returned Juventus
Pogba recently completed his contract with the English Premier League club Manchester United. As a free agent, the French footballer ultimately returned to his Italian club Juventus. However, he and his Italian club both have received a huge blow ahead of the new season as the French midfielder is now suffering from a knee injury.
The Italian club is looking for solution
The Italian club has just mutually terminated the contract of Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey. The Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo’s future in the club is also seriously doubtful.
According to media reports, Juventus earlier had a plan to release the 23-year-old American midfielder Weston McKennie. But due to Pogba’s recent injury, the club may now consider keeping the American midfielder for the upcoming season.
On the other hand, I Bianconeri are also showing huge interest in the PSG’s 28-year-old Argentine defensive midfielder Leandro Paredes.
Juventus will start their new season through their first Italian Serie A 2022/23 game when the Turin-based club will host Sassuolo on August 15.
