iPhone 12 Mini Review - 14_TechnoSports.co.in

While in Part 1, I discussed how I got the iPhone 12 Mini for such a price and told the details of the Big Billion Days sale; here I will share my experience of using the iPhone 12 Mini for over a week now. Well, the first two criticisms of the iPhone 12 Mini that anybody would say is about the smaller battery and its display.

However, still getting it for only ₹34k means, you are saving as much as ₹25,900; this makes the iPhone 12 Mini a unique option. Now getting iPhone over any Android smartphone is an easy choice for anyone because of iOS and reliability.

An iPhone simply means you get features like wireless charging, stereo speakers, superfast connectivity, IP68 water resistance, phenomenal A-series chipset and of course iOS, which cannot be found on any other smartphone.

Buying an iPhone doesn’t mean you are purchasing any just smartphone which should last few years, but it is a long-term commitment. So, transitioning to a smaller smartphone was a bit difficult for me; however, with time, I found that iPhone 12 Mini was easy to grab in your hands or carry in your pockets.

With the huge notch at the top, the effective display gets even smaller, so watching something on this reminded me of the old days when we used small Android phones. However, I liked how well I could use with one hand and take it anywhere even while bathing; literally, its size is that small.

Also, having multiple laptops, tablets and other smartphones, I didn’t use the iPhone 12 Mini for media consumption a lot. However, I like the loudspeakers on this iPhone, one at the rear end and the earpiece acting like the other, the best part for me has to be the cameras!

I am always into smartphone cameras and spend a lot of time with them, so the iPhone 12 Mini’s much-hyped camera was a thing to test out. The main thing I liked about the 12MP + 12MP cameras is that they are very consistent for the basic level of photography.

The colours of the photos are natural without any unnecessary AI modification crap seen on Android, and for portraits, undoubtedly, the iPhone is the best! The blurred edges and the details with the 12MP camera are amazing; thanks to a better ISP, the night mode is another strong point of the iPhone.

Well, it doesn’t perform the best during shallow lighting, but it generally produces some fantastic night mode shots. As you see in the camera samples, in the daylight too, the photos look crisp and detailed, while in videos, I see no competition here with support up to 4K HDR 60fps support with Dolby Vision.

Overall, I feel the cameras on the iPhone 12 Mini is undoubtedly flagship-level; thanks to the A14 Bionic chip inside, it is the reliable guy who will suit the needs of most people out there. Also, the cameras are the same on the iPhone 12 Mini compared to the costlier average iPhone 12.

So, practically as said before, except for the display and the battery, you have no differences between the both of them. One thing to note is that if you use this device as your primary device, you can expect up to 4 hours of screen time while up to 5 hours when used in battery saver mode.

As I already have my Oppo Reno 6 5G, I didn’t need to use it as heavily as I would have if I had only one option. I feel the regular iPhone 12 makes more sense; however, if you are like me, who has a backup smartphone with you, you can easily cover up those two major flaws with the iPhone 12 Mini.

Indeed, I have no regrets about buying the iPhone 12 Mini for only ₹34k and that too my favourite Purple colour variant. Thanks to Flipkart, a lot of people who had been waiting to get their first iPhone might have just bought during the Big Billion Days sale, do share your experience in the comments down below.
