Panasonic is bringing back a forgotten classic, the Toughbook series that debuted approximately 25 years ago. The company is looking to commemorate the anniversary of the device with the best Toughbook ever, the Toughbook G2 2-in-1 PC. It will begin at approximately $2,999(2,23,208 INR).
The new Toughbook G2 packs 18+ hours in battery life in the detachable PC that Panasonic unveiled. It will be able to function as a laptop or a tablet. It comes with optional accessories that will enhance your PC user experience.
The optional keyboard will enable you to deploy the device like a laptop as per your requirements and the optional mount will let you secure the device as a tablet on any vehicle or a desk.
The Toughbook G2 is a two-in-one PC that will sport a 10.1″ display and three modular expansion slots that offer extra functionalities for the PC. With the expansion slots, called X-PAK’s, you will be able to have a serial interface, barcode scanner, thermal camera, and a quick-release SSD.
The Toughbook G2 is powered by the Intel Core i5 and the i7 Pro processors. It has Windows 10 OS as the primary OS and has three programmable buttons at the front of the PC.
The Toughbook G2 2-in-1 PC carries support for Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi-6 and also has a dual-sim compartment. It has multiple variants available in terms of storage space, the lowest being the 8GB RAM+ 512GB storage variant and the highest being a 32GB RAM+1TB variant with the OPAL quick-release SSD.
Panasonic has said that the Toughbook G2 is backward compatible with the Toughbook 20 and G1 models, the list of featured Reseller Partners for the Toughbook G2 have been listed on the Panasonic website.
