Pakistan thrashed West Indies by 63 runs in the first T20Is of the three match series at the National Stadium, Karachi on Monday. Mohammad Rizwan, Haider Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr. remained the key players.

With winning the game, Pakistan takes a lead in the three match series with 1-0. The team is the first who were victorious in 18 T20Is in a calendar year. They broke their own record of 17 wins. The next T20I will be played at the same venue on Tuesday.

West Indies had a target of 201. Brandon King was the opening batter who was dismissed by Mohammad Nawaz in the second over of the innings. Nicholas Pooran returned back to the pavilion scoring just 18 in 10 balls . west indies scorecard by the fourth over was 33/2. Mohammad Wasim Jr took his second wicket of the match by dismissing Devon Thomas who scored jut 2 for West Indies. The team now had a figure of 40/3 in the sixth over. West Indies kept losing wickets and in the hosts had a steady win.

Previously, Mohammad Rizwan had a 78-run knock, Pakistan posted a total of 200/6 in the 20 overs. The hosts did not have an amazing start as Babar Azam got out at 0 in the first over. Fakhar Zaman didn’t create an impression as he scored just 10 runs.

Haidar and Rizwan who came in the middle had a spectacular partnership od 105 runs for the third wicket and both surpassed the mark of 50 runs. Rizwan was dismissed at 16th over, by Shephard getting 78 runs for the team. Pakistan stood at 140/3. Haider then scored 68 runs and by the end of the innings, they had scored more than 190 run-mark. Mohammad Nawaz had an impeccable performance as he scored 30 runs in just 10 balls.

According to Pooran, “Pakistan is a top team in international cricket, right now. Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi are at top of the game. But it takes one good ball to get someone out and you know we’re looking forward to that kind of thing you know any player.l can have bad games. So, if we can stay confident then you know things can go away,”
