Southampton sign Takumi Minamino on loan from Liverpool till the end of the season

0

Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino has joined fellow Premier League club Southampton on a loan deal till the end of the season, as confirmed by both clubs on their official social media handles.

Minamino joined the Reds from RB Salzburg last January, for a fee worth €8.5 million and has since made 31 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 4 goals and assisting 2 in all competitions during his time under Jürgen Klopp. However, he has not managed to establish himself as a clear cut starter ahead of Salah, Mane and Firmino.

The loan to Southampton does not contain an option to buy the player, and the 26-year-old will return to Anfield at the end of the season. His arrival at St Mary’s will increase Southampton’s chances of securing a finish in the top half of the table and potentially challenge for a place in the Europa League as well.

Southampton have been very impressive under Ralph Hasenhuettl so far this season and could be looking at a strong finish to the season with the addition of Minamino to their attacking lineup.

Harry Redknapp has talked about the fact that Jürgen Klopp’s stance on the winger has changed. Here is what he had to say:

“Well, he’s not done it at Liverpool, has he?” the former Saints manager told Sky Sports. “If Liverpool fancied him they wouldn’t have let him go.

“They wouldn’t be letting players go out on loan if they weren’t any use to the squad.

“If he [Klopp] felt that he was of any use then he would have kept him there. But his form hasn’t been good and he hasn’t looked good enough, to be fair, at the moment.”

The Saints travel to Manchester United tomorrow, and fans can expect to see their new acquisition on the pitch in their showdown against the Red Devils.

Odisha FC fire manager Stuart Baxter after making rape analogy

0

On Monday, Odisha FC fired manager Stuart Baxter for using an offensive analogy about rape while talking about a refereeing decision. He claimed his players must ‘rape or get raped to win a penalty’.

Baxter’s bizarre outburst came when he conducted a post-match interview having seen his team lose 1-0 to Jamshedpur FC in Babolim, Goa.

The 67-year-old went on a rant and said: ‘You need decisions to go your way, and they didn’t. I don’t know when we are going to get a penalty. I think one of my players will have to rape someone or get raped himself if he was going to get a penalty.’

The former manager of South Africa and Finland, Baxter, was initially condemned by Odisha stressing that his views do not reflect the club’s values, and subsequently removed from his position.

The club also issued a public apology. “The Club is appalled at the comments made by Head Coach, Stuart Baxter during the post-match interview today. It is completely unacceptable whatever the context and does not reflect the values of the club,” the club had tweeted on Monday. “We, at Odisha FC, unreservedly apologize and the club management will handle this matter internally,” it added.

On Tuesday, Odisha FC announced that an interim coach will be named shortly, for the remainder of the season. They are currently at the bottom of the 11-team table in the league after managing only one win from 14 matches and enduring eight losses.

Samsung’s new OLED panel is UL-verified & goes over 1,500 nits of brightness

0

The South Korean giant’s Display unit has recently announced OLED Panel for outdoors as well as UL-verified for Sunlight Visibility. The display is said to be made with a new organic material to achieve a peak brightness of more than 1,500 nits.

Samsung Display said its new OLED display will significantly enhance the world of 5G smartphones, delivering bright and clear outdoor visibility. Samsung Display’s new OLED panel has achieved an ‘Ambient Color Gamut’ rating of 73% of the DCI-P3 standard, and a peak brightness of more than 1,500 nits (the maximum brightness that a single display can now provide).

We’ve seen how Samsung’s OLED displays on its smartphones have evolved in the past few years and its recent S21 series, especially the S21 Ultra packs one of the best smartphone displays ever. So, this is why most Samsung Displays are free from outdoor visibility issues.

It is because, according to Samsung, the display depicts colours through a proprietary light-emitting process that embraces a wide colour gamut, usually resulting in a high degree of chroma, or intensely vivid colour. Thanks to this feature, OLED displays can now deliver vivid image quality outdoors, even where visibility is poor in general.

“In the 5G era where people spend more and more hours on their smartphones, it is crucial that we ensure a display performance that delivers bright and clear picture quality in both indoor and outdoor spaces,” said Dennis Choi, vice president and head of the Mobile Display Marketing team at Samsung Display. “Though it can be used with many types of smartphones, Samsung’s new OLED is particularly well suited for 5G devices as it will provide greater device usability and therein, more value for consumers,” he added.

The Samsung OLED material’s peak brightness goes over 1,500 nits, it is currently only used in Galaxy S21 Ultra and the panel is likely to be selected by several other global smartphone manufacturers for a new generation of flagship 5G smartphones.

Apex Legends Season 8 unleashing ‘Fuse’, map updates, and much more

0

Finally, the wait is over, today Apex Legend Season 8 is going to release, and it includes the new exciting character, some map changes, and many more. The last season introduced a character named ‘Horizon’ and a new map, ‘Olympus’. Take a look at all those updates and changes about Season 8.

Apex Legends Season 8 Release Date

February 2 is the release date of the 8th season of Apex Legends. As soon as the previous season ends, a new season of Apex Legends begins every time.

The design director at Respawn, Jason McCord has told that finally the damage trackers will be included in Season 8. Players were asking for this feature in recent months.

New Character in Season 8

The new legend to join the game, is Fuse, an explosive expert. He carries one extra grenade in each inventory slot and able to shoot them faster and further. This character’s tactical ability is to launch a series of cluster mines that splinter into multiple small bombs and hits enemies in a large area. His ultimate ability is called the Motherlode and unleashes a bombardment that encircles the target area in a flames wall.

You will find some similarities in Fuse with Bangalore who also carries a grenade launcher. Having the increased velocity and range of throwing grenades, it looks like, Fuse’s teammates are going to feed all their explosives to him.

New Weapon

In this season, a new weapon will be added to the gallery, which is the 30-30 Repeater. This weapon is compatible with heavy ammo and deals a lot of damage in each shot. This 30-30 Repeater reloads one round at a time.

Map Updates

As we have seen in the trailer that Kings Canyon is going to get some changes. Now the players who snipe well can go up to the observation towers with the crashed ship’s zip-lines.

The bunkers are replaced with Explosive Holds, which contains many higher tier attachments, weapons, and ammo. The Slum Lakes are also destroyed. Now there you’ll find Spotted Lakes.

Anniversary Collection

According to a well-known data miner, Shrugtal has tweeted that there will come an anniversary collection in Season 8. It seems that the developers are bringing back some classic Apex Legends skins from the past seasons, but with the new colours.

What are the new features introduced in the Apple iOS 14.5?

0

Apple has commenced beta testing for iOS 14.5, and whereas the iOS 14.4 release was mostly about bug fixes and not a lot of feature changes, this version brings several welcome improvements. You’ll get the long-awaited App Tracking Transparency feature, the ability to unlock your iPhone with your Apple Watch, and also AirPlay support for Fitness+.

On February 1, the iPhone maker released the first developer beta, and the public beta is expected to follow within soon. We will probably see the final release happen sometime in February.

What’s new in iOS 14.5

App Tracking Transparency

Apple’s long-advertised App Tracking Transparency feature will have its groundwork laid in this version of the iOS. Simply put, whenever applications want to track your activities outside the app, your iPhone will now require them to ask for permission (through a standard iOS prompt). Most users are unaware that many apps track activities across other apps or websites. The practice is not being blocked by Apple, it is merely requiring informed consent just as it does for, say, location access.

AirPlay 2 support for Fitness+

Apple’s new fitness subscription service can only be used on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV and not on a Mac or any other smart TV. With iOS 14.5, you can overcome this setback by streaming workouts from your iPhone or iPad to an AirPlay 2 supported device. This will make the service a lot less restrictive as there are lots of TVs that support AirPlay 2 these days. You won’t see your real-time metrics on screen, but that’s a relatively small price to pay.

Unlock iPhone with Apple Watch

Face ID is great, but the global COVID-19 pandemic and the constant mask-wearing have exposed an obvious flaw—when half your face is covered up it doesn’t work. With iOS 14.5 (and watchOS 7.4), you have the option to automatically unlock your iPhone when you’re wearing an unlocked Apple Watch.

To use this feature, go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode and toggle on the “Unlock with Apple Watch”. For this to work, you’ll have to be wearing your Apple Watch which must be protected with a passcode and unlocked. Then, when Face ID sees you’re wearing a mask, it will unlock with your Apple Watch. You’ll feel a quick double-tap on the watch haptics and an “Unlocking with Apple Watch” message will show up on your iPhone screen. This cannot be used to authenticate Apple Pay or App Store purchases.

Dual-SIM 5G Support

The iOS 14.5 will bring about global support for 5G in Dual-SIM mode on the iPhone 12 models. The Dual-SIM feature on the ‌iPhone 12‌ will let users use two lines of 5G service on a single ‌iPhone‌, useful especially for keeping separate work and home numbers. Prior to iOS 14.5, except for China, in all countries, Dual-SIM mode was limited to LTE.

Podcasts App

Some minor design changes were made to the Podcasts app including the “Shows” option in the app, which is now more prominently listed with episode descriptions and an easier access “Resume” button. The Search tab helps you to go through different categories to find what you’re looking for.

Reminders App

There is now an option to print a Reminder list, a feature that has been wanted by Reminders users for some time, plus, an option to sort lists in Reminders is also included by Due Date, Creation Date, Priority, or Title, plus.

News App

There’s a new Search tab in the Apple News app, and the News+ section has been redesigned with a “For You” feature and an easier to access Browse tab.

How to get the iOS 14.5 beta

If you want to try out the iOS 14.5 beta before its general release, do remember that the company suggests you do not run the 14.5 beta on any critical device, you never know what can go wrong.

Developers can go head to developer.apple.com/download and download a developer beta profile on the device upon which they which to run the beta. Those who aren’t developers can join the public beta by heading to beta.apple.com.

Once you have the profile, enable it by going to Settings > General > Profile and your device will reset to enable the profile. After it has reset with the profile enabled, to download the latest beta release you can head to Settings > General > Software Updates.

How online games innovated and improved functionality

0

The world moves fast. It’s no longer acceptable to stand still because to stand still is to be left behind. The casino industry is one of the most fast-paced out there, especially if you look at growth rates.

BusinessWire did some research and found that the value of the casino industry is supposed to grow from $58.9 billion to $66.7 billion, which is a remarkable increase of 13.2%.

When you’ve got $66.7 billion to play with, you’re going to make sure that you can stay ahead of the pack and claim as big a slice of the pie as possible.

That means innovation in this business is really important, and countless developers have been trying to create new and exciting twists to keep audiences entertained.

Even humble slots, the staple of so many bricks and mortar casinos, have been upgraded and transformed by some innovative new technology.

As we’ve just mentioned slots, let’s start with some interesting functionality improvements that have been made over the years.

Megaways technology

Traditional slots are played across three rows and three reels and are limited due to their physical nature. However, Megaways have opened up a digital world that’s revolutionized things.

Megaways designed slots that work on a six-reel system, and have one extra horizontal wheel. This technology lets games offer more opportunities to win than ever before and is now used by over 100 online slots.

Better graphics

Nobody wants to play games that don’t look good. That’s the whole point of them; to take you into another world that’s beautifully rendered.

We’ve seen incredible advances in graphics on console and PC games, and now we’re seeing them utilized in online games.

Game developers are now creating character-driven narratives that include 3D displays and interesting stories. Titles are now including richer scenery, better storylines, and more engaging visuals.

More ways to pay

This wouldn’t be an article about modern-day technological innovation and change without mentioning online wallets. First, we saw the rise of operators like Skrill and NETELLER.

But now, a lot of gaming operators are now willing to let customers pay using Bitcoin. Bitcoin is safe to use, and as it’s independent of banks, there are no transfer fees. It’s also secure, which is what appeals to a lot of gamblers and casino users.

There are also some casinos that only operate in Bitcoin, which is a huge step on the road to a broader acceptance of cryptocurrency.
