Pakistan Cricket Board signs a 3-year deal with Sony Sports Network

0

Pakistan Cricket Board [PCB] has signed a 3-year deal with Sony Sports Network which will allow them to telecast all of Pakistan’s home international games and also the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The deal with PCB assures more than 100 days of live cricket as Sony Sports Network now has 5 international cricket boards in its portfolio. Those boards are England & Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Sri Lanka, Cricket Australia, Cricket Ireland, and the newly added Pakistan Cricket Board.

Recently Sony lost Cricket South Africa to Star Sports. But they renewed the contract with SLC and PCB. Sony will also telecast Lanka Premier League, Abu Dhabi T10 and few others.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Network India said, “Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the broadcast rights of the Pakistan Cricket Board for a tenure of three years. SPN will air all of Pakistan’s home international games along with the Pakistan Super League. With the acquisition of PCB rights, Sony Pictures Networks India has broadcast rights to a total of five international cricket boards.”

Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chief Executive Wasim Khan stated, “The PCB welcomes Sony Pictures Networks India to its list of elite broadcasters who will have rights to Pakistan’s bilateral series and PSL 2021-23. Through this partnership, cricket fans in South Asia will be able to follow and enjoy high-quality cricket action in Pakistan across all formats featuring some of the finest modern-day stars.”

Four reasons why Chelsea sacked Frank Lampard after 18 months

0

Chelsea have now officially sacked Frank Lampard as the Head Coach of the club, and Thomas Tuchel is waiting in the wings to be officially announced as the next in charge of the Stamford Bridge Blues.

After 18 months in charge, and as their best ever player, Lampard is, and will continue to be the most cherished Chelsea player in the eyes of the Blues faithful. However, there were some serious problems with the former Chelsea player’s return to the club, which we’ll talk about below.

The first, and arguably the most disappointing of all was the lack of a clear cut plan for the players on the pitch this season, that has caused them to underperform on many occasions, oftentimes even in victories. There was no concrete vision for the future and the XI often looked lost, playing meaningless passes in their own half between defenders.

Secondly, the addition of so many new players over the course of two seasons, and the loss of Eden Hazard in 2019 coupled with the transfer ban was something that Lampard dealt well with. But despite spending a fortune in the summer, the team has been missing the same drive and energy that they showed in important games last season.

Third, the over-rotation of in-form players in favour of keeping them fresh. An extended run of assured game time in the first team was barely available to anybody in the team, and the centre-back partnership between Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma was also often replaced with Christensen or Rudiger.

And lastly, but most importantly was the run of poor results, with defeats away at Everton, Wolves, Arsenal and Leicester City, along with a humiliating home defeat to Manchester City that sees Chelsea in ninth place at the midway mark in the season. The Blues have not won a single game against the bigger clubs in the division, which only goes to show the quality of play this season.

Paris Saint-Germain offer a lucrative contract to Sergio Ramos

Paris Saint-Germain is considering to offer an irresistible offer for Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.

Sergio Ramos has only a few months left in his contract with Real Madrid. Ramos recently refused to sign the new deal with Real Madrid. Real Madrid offered him a 1-year contract extension with the same salary. Ramos didn’t like the proposal and told Florentino Perez that he’s not going to accept that offer and also that he will now “listen to other clubs”.

Paris Saint-Germain wants to take the opportunity to sign the Real Madrid captain. The French Champions want to offer a three-year deal on a bumper contract worth 15 million euros per year.

Sergio Ramos joined Real Madrid in 2005 from Sevilla. In these 17 years, he has played 668 games for Real Madrid and scored 100 goals for the Los Blancos. He has won 5 La Liga and 4 UEFA Champions League title with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid wants to keep him for some more years. But they don’t want to sign him in an excessive deal. The Spanish national team captain is now 34-year-old. So, Real Madrid is not in hurry to seal the deal.

It is now fully up to Ramos himself. He needs to decide his future. If he wants to stay at Madrid then he has to sign a deal of lesser amount compared to what Paris Saint-Germain has offered. It will be interesting to see what will be his decision.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 7 5800X now available in adequate quantity

0

There has been a lot of criticisms about the availability of the new Zen 3 based AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors and of course about the launch of only the high-end processors only. This is understandable as AMD is short on the stock from TSMC but they have to continue launching new products.

Hopefully, AMD is hiding the budget-end CPUs to counter Intel, until the blue team launches the Rocket Lake-S desktop CPUs in March. But until then you are stuck with two Ryzen 9s that are way beyond anyone’s budget and there are two CPUs you can get namely – the Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 7 5800X.

Both are best CPUs in their perspectives but the prices until now were that bad I couldn’t possibly recommend it. But now they are available in adequate stocks and you can get them with various offers on Amazon including one-day delivery.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X

Price: ₹ 27,500

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X + Radeon RX 6800 - 4K gaming experience for Rs. 1 Lakh tested!
  • 6 Cores & 12 Threads, 35 MB Cache
  • Base Clock: 3.7 GHz, Max Boost Clock: up to 4.6 GHz
  • Memory Support: DDR4 3200MHz, Memory Channels: 2, TDP: 65W, PCI Express Generation: PCIe Gen 4
  • Compatible with Motherboards based on 500 Series Chipset, Socket AM4
  • Separate Graphic Card Required, Included Heatsink Fan: Wraith Stealth

This is the best 6 core CPU I’ve ever tested and using it for a month now, I realized it is a good deal considering the other Ryzen 5000 series processors. If properly cooled and overclocked it can beat the previous AMD 8 core CPUs as well, but it is on the slight premium side so you can either wait for the Ryzen 5 5600 or go with this one if you the “best gaming CPU” at budget.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X

Price: ₹ 42,167

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and Ryzen 7 5800X now available in adequate quantity
  • 8 Cores & 16 Threads, 36 MB Cache
  • Base Clock: 3.8 GHz, Max Boost Clock: up to 4.7 GHz
  • Memory Support: DDR4 3200MHz, Memory Channels: 2, TDP: 105W, PCI Express Generation : PCIe Gen 4
  • Compatible with Motherboards based on 500 Series Chipset, Socket AM4
  • Separate Graphic Card Required; Included Heatsink Fan: No

Did buy the CPU from Amazon and is currently using, but it hurts to say the CPU is kind of overpriced by AMD themselves. Indeed it is the fastest 8 core desktop CPU now, but if you genuinely need it for the best gaming experience, only you should go or else at this price get the Ryzen 9 3900XT, want to check out the CPU’s review? Head back here soon.

Redmi K40 series launching on 17th February with no charger in the box

Recently Lu Weibing is hinting a lot about the Redmi Note 10 series in his various Weibo posts. This confirms the imminent launch of the mid-range king Redmi Note 10 series. Apart from Redmi Note 10 the company is also planning to launch the flagship Redmi K40 series. From the past month after the launch of flagship Snapdragon 888 SoC the series was in discussion and finally more leaks are surfacing as the launch is nearing. The phones will first debut in China then will pave its ways o the global market.

Now we are going to share some more information on the launch and features of this device. Now coming to the first leak that suggests that the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro will debut in China on 17th February. Both the phones will feature a 2K display along with a Snapdragon 888 SoC.

All thanks to @yabhishekhd for sharing this information with us. This is the image of an online retail listing of both the devices where the price is not mentioned but we can see the launch date hinted at at the bottom of the image. Apart from this, both the devices will be 5G enabled. Another image has surfaced today where we can see two types of packing boxes of the Redmi K40 series.

If you are thinking that why two boxes then it is simple, one box is with a charger and another is without a charger, and the company wants to know what the consumers want. Unlike Apple, Xiaomi is giving an option to its consumers to choose between a phone with and without charger.

According to Gizmochina, “Lu Weibing, General Manager of the Redmi brand recently posted on Weibo, asking for suggestions for the upcoming Redmi Note 10 series smartphones. In the comments, some users suggested removing the charger from the box, and to one of those comments, Lu Weibing responded by saying “message received,” which indicates that the charger won’t be included in the retail box.”

Android 12 OS might include iPhone’s Back Tap feature

0

After getting huge success through Android 11 OS, Android v12 is knocking on the door as it is expected to be available after certain months. This version of 12 will arrive with some of the exciting features, such as Add Pairs (a new form of split-screen mode). Another interesting feature that Android 12 is going to have is iPhone’s Back Tap feature (double-taps on its rear panel to open shortcuts). Generally, we see iOS is borrowing features from Android. But this time, it looks to get swapped for the first time.

In the current version of iOS, there is an interesting feature called Back Tap, by which the user can double-tap on the rear panel of the iPhone to take a screenshot. For comparison, Android has some other process to take a screenshot (screen swiping or power button+Down volume button). The double-tap feature on the rear panel was first introduced to replace the Active Edge feature that we’ve seen in the Google Pixel series. But, unfortunately, this feature dropped from the Pixel 4a onwards.

Regarding the Android 12 update, the beta version of v12 is at about six months away to get reached to its users. As earlier mentioned, there will be another interesting feature App Pairs, basically an updated form of a split-screen feature allowing 2 apps to share a display. For example, you can use Chrome to pair with Google Maps to search for a specific location. Through Android 12, Google might allow more access to sources of apps that are not the Play Store.
