HP’s lightest consumer laptop, Pavilion Aero 13 will be launched in July 2022

According to recent sources, HP will soon launch the Pavilion Aero series and will do so with impressive specifications, especially for a Pavilion-class product. It’s stated that this particular model will be the company’s lightest consumer laptop yet and will be just under 1 kg, as well as it will feature AMD Zen 3 CPUs up to the Ryzen 7 5800U.

And the company will not just be stopping at that the new HP system will also carry a 16:10 display with a 2.5k native resolution and 400 nits of brightness and full sRGB coverage. For now, we have no official details regarding the exact specifications, such as the dimensions and other design details.

All we know is that until now, we have only seen the Pavilion laptops to be generally thicker and less powerful than the pricier Envy or Spectre options. So, it’s quite surprising to see HP announce such lofty performance and size targets for its new 13.3-inch Pavilion Aero 13.

Rumours are also floating around that HP might also be planning to start producing the larger 15-inch Pavilion Aero 15 if the Pavilion Aero 13 proves to be popular with users. For now, the company has announced that the Pavilion Aero 13 will be available this July at HP.com for a starting price of USD 749.

Countries other than the US have to wait longer to get their hands on this model. HP also announced that a fully-loaded Ryzen 7 SKU might retail for closer to $1000.

EVGA teases new Dark branding hinting at support for AMD

Yesterday on Twitter the TEAMEVGA posted a youtube trailer along with the caption, “A New Darkness is coming…”. The teaser showed us the familiar DARK branding with an even familiar orange circle of the AMD Ryzen branding. We all know that EVGA produces PC gaming accessories and they are one of the best in the market. Their gaming motherboards, including their “DARK” line, are a primary choice for gamers and sport a black tone to the motherboards.

The Dark lineup consists of the EVGA Z390 DARK, EVGA X299 DARK, EVGA SR-3 DARK, EVGA Z490 DARK, and the EVGA Z490 K|NGP|N motherboards. However, the company has only limited its motherboards to support Intel in terms of CPU and NVIDIA in terms of GPU. But the teaser suggests that the company might finally be looking towards AMD.

EVGA has this to say about their Dark line of motherboards:

The Dark is crafted from the ground up to be the performance apex with everything you need to make a record-breaking benching run or a 24/7 number cruncher, and nothing you don’t – a board that is as reliable as it is fast.

EVGA’s Dark line offers extremely high performance, as well as overclock system features. The latest teaser from the brand and the drop of the orange circular swipe, synonymous with the company AMD, makes us wonder about EVGA’s plans.

For now, no news is confirmed as to what exactly the company will be doing with AMD, but we are still awaiting the release of the EVGA Z590 DARK which utilizes an 11th generation Intel Core processor. So let’s see what the future holds.

The EVGA Z590 DARK once again strikes fear into the hearts of other Z590 motherboards by combining every ounce of power available to the Intel® Z590 chipset and fine-tuning it to perfection. This armed and fully operational motherboard is born from a 10-layer PCB and powered by a 22-Phase VRM. With support for PCIe Gen4 graphics cards and M.2 NVMe SSDs, overclockers have nothing to fear when shooting for the highest scores in any benchmark. For everyone else demanding the ultimate in performance, the Z590 DARK is loaded with over a dozen USB options, eight SATA ports, two 2.5Gbps NICs + WiFi 6/BT 5.1, 7.1 Channel HD Audio, three M.2 Key-M slots, and two fan headers dedicated to AIO CPU Coolers. We’ve even included a nightlight with the DARK’s first-ever ARGB cover for those times when you might need to see what you’re doing. As a wise overclocker once said, “Once you start down the DARK path, forever will it dominate your destiny.” and with the EVGA Z590 DARK, that destiny is sure to be filled with shattered records and countless victories on the battlefield.

MediaTek announces Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture, what effect will it have on the industry?

MediaTek is already giving a head-to-head with Qualcomm with its affordable Diamensity SoCs which are 5G enabled. Now, the chipmaker is strengthening itself as it announces Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture. So, what it is?

It will provide the smartphone brands more flexibility to customize the chip features as per their strategies. The vendors will get “close-to-metal access” to the cameras, displays, graphics, artificial intelligence (AI) processing units (APUs), sensors and connectivity sub-system features within the chip. Point to note, this facility is open for the Dimensity 1200 chipset only, at least for now.

It is expected that MediaTek’s this step will have a big positive impact on the smartphone industry. Why? The brands interested to use the Dimensity 1200 SoC in their smartphones can customize chip’s features (which I mentioned above) as per their other hardware components. The collaboration between the processor and other hardware components will be more efficient. And it will reflect on the overall performance.

“MediaTek is collaborating with the world’s largest smartphone brands to unlock customized consumer experiences that differentiate flagship 5G smartphones,” said Dr. Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. “Whether it’s novel multimedia features, unmatched performance, brilliant imaging or more synergy between smartphones and services, with our architecture device makers can tailor their devices to complement a variety of consumer lifestyles.”

Here’s what the smartphone brands can customize –

  • Multimedia Experiences: With access to the in-chip, multi-core AI and display processors, brands can tailor multimedia experiences and unlock more synergy between the chipset and the smartphone’s display and audio hardware. Brands are able to utilize MediaTek’s artificial intelligence picture quality (AI-PQ) and AI Super Resolution (AI-SR) or can develop their own algorithms with customized video parameters and scenario detection backed by their own deep learning data or dynamically adjust display elements.
  • Hybrid Multiprocessing: The open resource architecture gives brands the freedom to fine-tune a device’s performance and power-efficiency through workload assignments customization across the chipset’s processing resources. This includes the central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), deep learning accelerators and visual processors.
  • AI Processing: Using the foundation of MediaTek’s NeuroPilot, brands have better access to MediaTek’s deep learning accelerator (DLA) within the MediaTek APU. This allows brands to apply customizations to the multi-threaded scheduler and customized algorithms. They can also choose to access the DLA’s capabilities to integrate INT8, INT16 and FP16 data types within a single AI hardware, which improves the device’s precision, performance and power-efficiency.
  • Camera Processing Engines: For both image and video capturing, brands are given raw access to the camera image signal processor (ISP) to directly control the data flow that immediately follows once content is captured. MediaTek’s Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture gives brands access to the Dimensity 1200 chipset’s low-level camera hardware engines to optimize the configurations to suit their chosen parameters, camera sensors and software setups. Brands can customize the chipset’s hardware-based visual processing engines, such as depth mapping, image stabilization, warp engine, color correction and more.
  • Connectivity: To create a well-rounded customer experience, brands will be able to sync the latest Bluetooth features with profiles to match their wireless accessories, such as headsets or gaming peripherals.

Borussia Dortmund willing to accept Manchester United’s 85 million offer for Sancho

It seemingly comes forward that, after a whole year of speculations, Jadon Sancho will finally bid Dortmund goodbye for Manchester United this summer. The English winger played at Manchester City before arriving in Germany in search of more minutes. During his time with the Black and Yellows, he has performed at a high level, showcasing his quality, which has only been improving all these years.

This information comes from Sport 1 journalist Patrick Berger, who announced on Twitter that Borussia Dortmund will accept the Red Devils’ third €85 million bid. He tweeted, “BVB will accept the third €85m bid from Manchester Utd (first was €72m, 2nd €78m). Borussia, that always wanted €90m, come towards MUFC. There were good talks last days between Watzke & Woodward. Now it’s about details (add ons/payments installments)”.

While playing at the Signal Iduna Park, Sancho broke and created multiple Bundesliga records. One of them was that he became the first as well as the youngest player in Bundesliga history to reach 50 assists in less than 100 games. His 50th assist was to Mahmoud Dahoud.

After the two initial offers of €72 million and €78 million being rejected by Borussia Dortmund, it appears that Ed Woodward and his team were lucky this time around, as their most recent offer appears to be acceptable for the German side.

After what seems like years of haggling, the two clubs have finally seemingly agreed on a price. The Bundesliga side, in this case, have resorted to comply with Manchester United and meet somewhere along the line.

Productive conversations between Watzke and the aforementioned Woodward over the previous few days appeared to have clinched the deals, with the final negotiations including ‘add ons’ and/or ‘payment instalments’ to take place. Overall, it appears like things are moving in the right manner for Manchester United supporters.

Euro 2020: Teams that made it to the quarter-finals

With the impressive set of fixtures in the round of 16, the Euro 2020 witnessed an immensely dramatic affair of the matches unfolding. There were multiple upsets and surprises in the first phase of the knockout stages, and the teams qualified thoroughly deserve their spots in the quarter-finals.

During the initial day, Wales faced Denmark with Gareth Bale’s side dubbed as the favorites to make a surprise run in the tournament yet again. However, the Danish had other ideas. They handed them a thorough battering by scoring four goals without reply. Next up were Italy up against Austria, in a quest to prevent another upset on the same night. With the high intensity of the pressure that Austria applied, it took the game into extra time. However, an Azzurri managed to find the net twice into extra time to win the tie 2-1 after conceding a late consolation goal.

On the second day, the Netherlands faced Czech Republic to generate another upset for big teams. After De Ligt getting a straight red, the Czechs took over, scoring two to ease past the Dutch. With Belgium against Portugal up next, this game turned into an uphill task for Ronaldo and co. after conceding late in the first half. After none of the attacks really materializing, they went out with a disappointment.

With England beating Germany and Ukraine beating Sweden, these fixtures were bland as compared to Croatia vs Spain and France vs Switzerland. Croatia made comeback from two down before going out after extra time from conceding two goals. France, on the other hand, also made a comeback from one down, but couldn’t keep their two-goal cushion intact, as Switzerland scored two again to equalize, before winning it over penalties.

Italy face Belgium in the next round, with Spain and Switzerland facing off in the same pool. On the other side, Czech Republic and Denmark play each other, and England face Ukraine.
