Analyst Firm informs the sale of next-gen consoles is not faster in comparison with last-gen

0

As per Ampere Analysis data, the sales of next-gen consoles aren’t going any faster than the previous-gen. Though, Microsoft and Sony both are claiming that they had the best ever launch for Xbox and PlayStation consoles, respectively.

According to GamesIndustry, the analyst from Ampere Analysis believes that 2.8 million units of Xbox Series X and S have been sold to date, which is nearly 100K units less than the Xbox One did in the same time interval. Microsoft focuses on Game Pass, but the analysts think the sale of Xbox Series X and S hardware will remain a keystone of the Xbox business at least until 2025.

PS5 sold about 4.2 million units, as per the records of Ampere Analysis, which is about 300K units less than the official figure of Sony’s 4.5 million units, release last week at the time of the company’s financial.

PlayStation 5 sold nearly the same compared to the PlayStation 4, though the PS4 was not available in Japan, which makes the performance of PS5 a little less positive impact in comparison. Ampere Analysis specified that the limitation of availability was a factor, otherwise, the sale of the next-gen console for the PS5 could exceed five million units. As per the analysts, PS5 could sell between 7.6 to 8 million units before the end of March.

Meanwhile, Nintendo becomes the real winner, as its Switch console made an impressive sale of 26.3 million units all over the year, surpassing the previous record of the company by nearly 2 million units.

Here’s the latest on Wijnaldum contract update

0

Gini Wijnaldum’s situation is getting even more complicated with Liverpool by the week. It is dangerous because Liverpool are risking the loss of top midfielder for free. The player is entering the final months of his current deal with the Premier League champions but has no agreement with other clubs yet.

Speaking on the Dutchman’s fate at Anfield on the Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano mentioned that the main reason behind the stalemate between the two parties was regarding the economic side of things.

The Dutchman then said that he would only end up staying if his mind changes about finances due to some personal reasons, otherwise it would be very difficult to keep him.

Renato Sanches could be one of the names that eventually end up replacing Wijnaldum should he leave the club. It is important to remember that he is only one of the names that they are following and that there are other candidates who could take his place.

With the emergence of Curtis Jones, Liverpool might actually not have to sign anyone at all, but it is a situation well worth keeping a track of.

Intel takes a dig at Apple with its new advertising

0

Apple had been a loyal customer to Intel for quite some time now, until they broke ties with Intel last year, showing the world what its own M1 chip could do. This has obviously impacted Intel’s image that is already sinking with AMD’s success in the market.

This comes as no surprise that Intel has lost its performance dominance and their innovations have been stagnant for the last couple of years. Thanks to AMD, the Blue team has finally realized its mistake, and when it tried to fix things with Tiger Lake, it was too late as the Cupertino giant has been fed up with Intel, cutting ties for the new MacBook series.

The success of Apple’s in-house silicons has motivated to bring more of them into existence in the coming months. Knowing this threat, Intel has come with a kind of odd advertising campaign showing the favourable conditions where it performs better Macs, again igniting the old Mac vs PC debate.

Well, claiming Intel chips are better for Photoshop or playing Rocket league on a Windows PC is a lame ad campaign because Intel is not focussing this on a wider aspect of things. This ad is a mockery of Intel and Apple’s 15 years old partnership, and if it really wants to reopen the Mac vs PC debate again, they have forgotten AMD is the race too.

Intel’s poor management has led them to lose Apple’s trust, lose the CPU market to AMD, and now their favourable laptop market is also snatched by the likes of both Apple and AMD. In our opinion, Intel has to give answers like a fair guy with new high performing chips instead of this stupid ad campaigns because Intel has no match to Apple’s efficient and powerful M1 chip at the moment.

OFFICIAL: Bayern Munich complete signing of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig

0

The race is over.

Bayern Munich have reached total agreement with Dayot Upamecano regarding a transfer to Bavaria once the season ends, and the youngster will put pen to paper in the summer, as revealed by multiple sources.

RB Leipzig had a release clause worth €42.5 million in the Frenchman’s contract, which will be matched by Bayern and the transfer will go through once the money arrives.

Sporting Director, Hasan Salihamidžić also confirmed the news in quotes given to German news outlet Bild on Friday night.

“I can confirm that and we’re very happy about it at Bayern,” he said regarding a move for the Frenchman.

“We had very good, intense and professional discussions with the player and his agent Volker Struth for several months.

“We know we have a very tough competition. Upamecano is a young player, 22, whose qualities are already exceptionally developed.

“I was always convinced that we had with a good concept. We presented him with our vision of his career at Bayern.”

The 22-year-old is expected to stay with Bayern Munich till 2026, and RB Leipzig have found a replacement for the outgoing centre-back in the form of Mohamed Simakan, who joins the Red Bull Arena from Ligue 1 club Strasbourg.

Clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid were heavily linked with the centre-back’s services, but the recent sextuple winners were always leading the race for the defender’s signature, and now the deal has officially been announced after almost a year of speculation regarding Upamecano’s future.

Is this the end of the journey for SC East Bengal in this season’s ISL?

SC East Bengal’s ISL journey of this season almost ends after today’s draw against Hyderabad FC. The defensive flaws of SC East Bengal at the death has haunted them again.

Hyderabad FC made two changes in this game. Liston Colaco and Joel Chianese came in the team for Mohammed Yasir and Fran Sandaza. SC East Bengal came up with the same team that beat Jamshedpur FC a few days back.

Both teams were not in their best from the best. Both have created enough chances but failed to break the deadlock. SC East Bengal goalkeeper Subrata Paul was excellent today. SC East Bengal took the lead after a blistering counter-attack by Bright Enobakhare. But SC east Bengal defence switched off again at the last moment as Hyderabad FC scored the equalizer to took a point from this game.

After the match, SC East Bengal coach Tony Grant said, “Two points taken away from us tonight. It is going to be tough to make it to the playoffs. We set the team up at the exact same formation as the game as JFC, it was the first time we had the opportunity to do that.”

Hyderabad FC manager Manuel Marquez said, “I am happy. I try to be objective. In first half we had more chances. In second half they scored. Great goal from Bright. After that it is a clear penalty in my watch. I think most of the draws, we had to have the game finished, like the game against Odisha. A lot of draws we had the control, but I am very happy because it not easy. Three games to play and we are in the fight for the top four. We are satisfied and proud of the players.”

Hyderabad FC is in the 3rd position with 24 points from first 17 matches while SC East Bengal is at 9th with 17 points playing the same number of matches. It is quite impossible for SC East Bengal to qualify for the play-offs. The Red and Golds want to end the season on a good note winning the last three games of the season.

NTSB call ‘pilot disorientation’ as the cause of Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crash

0

On Tuesday, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) determined the probable cause of the tragic helicopter crash that took the lives of basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna Bryant and seven others was because of the pilot violating federal flight standards.

Pilot Ara Zobayan flew through thick fog and probably became disoriented which led to the fatal accident, Robert Sumwalt, the chairman of the NTSB, said during a hearing to determine the cause of the accident. He said the pilot was “flying under visual flight orders or VFR which legally prohibited him from penetrating the clouds” but he still flew through the clouds.

Investigators said that once Zobayan lost sight of the ground, he probably thought he was climbing when, in fact, the helicopter was plunging toward a hillside. They also concluded that Zobayan probably put pressure on himself to complete the flight because of Bryant’s celebrity and a friendship they had developed.

The Associated Press reported that the NTSB said there was no sign of mechanical failure and the crash appeared to be an accident.

Per the preliminary report by the safety board, Seconds before he crashed, Mr. Zobayan told a flight controller he was trying to climb to 4,000 feet in an attempt to get above the clouds, but the helicopter was actually falling. The helicopter crashed at 9:45 a.m., about 39 minutes after it had taken off from John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana.

Bryant regularly traveled by helicopter to avoid the city’s notorious traffic, and on the morning of January 26, 2020, he was taking his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and her friends and their family members from Orange County to Ventura County for a youth basketball tournament at the Mamba Sports Academy.

LeBron James overtakes Kevin Durant for most votes in the second return of All-Star Game voting

0

The NBA is finalising a plan to hold the 2021 All-Star Game on March 7, in Atlanta. All-Star voting opened on January 28 and will run through February 16. On Thursday the league revealed the second results with the top 10 players named for each conference in the backcourt and frontcourt.

Fans will account for 50% of the final vote for this year’s All-Star Game. The other 50% is made up of current players and a media panel, with each side accounting for 25% of the vote.

Though the leading vote-getters remain the same, there has been some movement within the top 10. LeBron James and Kevin Durant continue to lead the way but the Lakers megastar has managed to collect 4,369,533 votes so far, pushing him past Durant for the most votes among all players. Durant’s 4,234,433 votes lead all Eastern Conference players. Stephen Curry and Bradley Beal are the top vote-getters among guards in each conference.

Durant, James and Curry were the only stars who had received at least two million votes in the first round of voting. They had leads of at least 550,000 votes at their respective positions. This time around, they are the only players with over four million votes. Curry has the largest lead of any player with 1,548,498 more votes than Luka Doncic, the No. 2 guards in the Western Conference.

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal has strengthened his hold as the top guard in the Eastern Conference, leapfrogging past LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic to go from ninth to seventh in overall votes.

Among the Western Conference guards, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell jumped Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant while Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso has entered the top 10, replacing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In the frontcourt, Lakers big man Anthony Davis trails Kawhi Leonard by just under 125,000 votes in total. Luka Doncic has built a slightly bigger advantage over Damian Lillard. Still, less than 400,000 votes separate the two.
