NVIDIA Ada Architecture and RTX 40 Series GPUs finally come to Laptops

NVIDIA Ada Lovelace Breaks Energy-Efficiency Barrier, Supercharges 170+ Laptop Designs for Gamers and Creators

At CES today, NVIDIA announced new GeForce RTX 40 Series laptops. Powered by the company’s ultra-efficient Ada Lovelace GPU architecture which delivers NVIDIA’s largest-ever generational leap in performance and power efficiency, GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs will be featured in over 170 laptops from all of the major manufacturers.

The new GeForce RTX 40 Series laptops are up to 3x more power efficient than the previous generation and bring the Ada architecture, NVIDIA DLSS 3 and fifth-generation Max-Q technologies to laptops for the first time. For gamers, RTX 40 Series laptops deliver up to 4x the performance in AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077, and for creators, they offer blazing-fast acceleration for NVIDIA Studio exclusive apps like Omniverse and top creative apps such as Blender.

The new line-up of GPUs for laptops includes GeForce RTX 4080, 4070, 4060 and 4050 GPUs, and for the first time ever on laptops, an RTX 4090 GPU is coming too.

The Ada architecture has enabled a new class of enthusiast laptops, the world’s fastest. With each new GPU generation since 2017, advancements in Max-Q technology have improved laptop design. Well, finally, the Green team has launched their highly-anticipated and “affordable” yet RTX 40-series GPU to the market and yes it’s the RTX 4070 Ti, the successor to the highly successful RTX 3070 Ti. Based on NVIDIA’s new Ada Lovelace Architecture, these really powerful GPUs and so will have a price hike to make the new GeForce RTX 4070 Ti available for $799.

Thanks to the new 4nm process and up to 2x performance and power efficiency alongside 4x performance with DLSS 3 vs. brute-force rendering, this makes the new GeForce RTX 4070 Ti really interesting. We already knew about the specs of this GPU as per multiple rumours and indeed you will get 7680 CUDA cores running at 2.61 GHz and 12 GB of GDDR6X memory.

The RTX 4070 Ti is nearly as fast as the NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti from the previous generation in a number of leaked benchmarks and as per NVIDIA’s numbers, the new GPU is almost twice faster as the last-gen RTX 3080 with DLSS. New 13th Gen Intel desktop CPUs announced: 35W & 65W Raptor Lake chips are here

Now, finally, at CES 2023, Intel has unveiled its 65W and 35W based desktop chips based on the new architecture and Intel 7 process.

So, essentially all these new 65W SKUs, which will be available to buy in the market, now feature from 4 up to 24 cores. In terms of the number of cores, you still get up to 8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficiency Cores whereas the maximum power ranges from 89W to 219W.

While the Core i7s and Core i9s will be supporting up to DDR5-5600 and DDR4-3200 RAMs, whereas, the non-overclockable Core i5s and Core i3s will support DDR5-4800 and DDR4-3200 RAMs. Intel has stressed more on the Core i5 variants and given users a plethora of options ranging from 6C/12T to 10C/16T or even 14C/20T configurations having a price range varying from $196 to $255.

Talking about the pricing, the expensive 65W-based Core i9s now have a price of $564/$589 whereas the Core i7s also get a price bump to make them available for $359/$384. Also, there are 35W-based T-series chips with similar configurations but will mostly be used by OEMs.

A brand-new entry-level smartphone from Poco has been released. In India, the Poco C50 was unveiled. It boasts a large 6.5-inch display, a 5000mAh battery, and an 8-megapixel camera on the back.

Availability and Pricing

There are two Poco C50 models available, each with 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a base price of ₹6499 for the 2GB RAM variant and a price of ₹7299 for the 3GB RAM option. However, the smartphone is offered at a special introductory price of ₹6249 for the 2GB option and ₹6999 for the 3GB option. The smartphone will be offered in the two eye-catching colors of Country Green and Royal Blue.

Poco C50 Specifications

The Poco C50 measures 164.9x 76.75x 9.09mm and weighs 192gm. The Poco C50 offers a 6.52-inch HD+ IPS LCD Display with a resolution of 720X1600 and 400 nits of peak brightness. The touch response on the smartphone is incredibly smooth thanks to its 120Hz touch sampling rate. The device is powered by MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with IMG PowerVR GE-class GPU, which features LPDDR4X RAM.

The smartphone is powered on the Android 12 GO edition. The Poco C50 is available in two different configurations: 2GB LPDDR4X RAM and 3GB LPDDR4X RAM, both with 32GB of inbuilt eMMC 5.1 storage and 512GB of additional memory via microSD.

The Poco C50’s cameras consist of a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, and depth sensor which can support 1080p at 30 fps. It supports MicroUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

The Poco C50 has a 5000mAh battery in it that allows 10W fast charging. Additionally, it has a P2i coating that makes it water resistant, and a fingerprint scanner that is positioned on the back. Other features include a 3.5mm audio jack, a top-ported loudspeaker, and FM radio.
