Benoit Badiashile to join Chelsea for €38 million

0

Chelsea have agreed a deal for Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile. The two clubs have finalised a deal worth €38 million including all add-ons.

The defender becomes yet another acquisition for the Blues, after agreeing deals for Andrey Santos, Christopher Nkunku and David Datro Fofana. Once he is registered during the upcoming window, he will be available for selection in the Premier League.

Benoit Badiashile to join Chelsea in January

With a total agreement in place between the two clubs, the medical for the transfer will take place on Monday. He is expected to sign a contract until 2029, and the deal will be announced in the coming days once the formalities have been completed.

At 21, Benoit Badiashile is still very young. But, he has made 135 appearances for Monaco and has been capped twice by the French national team. He is showing a lot of potential, and could be a long-term player for the Blues.

Chelsea’s strategy of signing young players for the future has led them to Badiashile. They have already signed Wesley Fofana, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, David Datro Fofana and Gabriel Slolina, and could be a force to reckoned with in the coming decade once these new players are integrated into their first team.

Apple: Here’s what we know about the upcoming AR/VR Headset and the iPhone 15 Pro

Apple is likely to enter the head-worn wearable industry in 2023 with the release of its AR/VR or “mixed” reality headset. It’s going to be an amazing year full of firsts and all the hype that comes with a new product category, with a new product on the way.

Much of the Mac portfolio is ready for a refresh, with new MacBook Pro, Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Pro models expected, with the Mac Pro in particular standing out because it hasn’t been updated since 2019. All of the usual items, such as the Apple Watch and the iPhone, will be refreshed, with iPhone 15 variants on the way.

The primary difference with the iPhone 15 will be the switch to USB-C, with Apple removing the Lightning port. Periscope zoom capability for the iPhone 15 Pro (or Ultra) is also included, as as an A17 chip. Based on current reports, we’ve covered everything we know about all of Apple’s new devices due in 2023.

Apple AR/VR Headset

Apple has been working on an AR/VR headset for more than five years, and we anticipate that the first version will be available in 2023. This will be Apple’s second wearable and the company’s first new product category since the launch of the Apple Watch in 2015.

Apple’s AR/VR headset is believed to have a curved front display that covers the eyes, similar to current VR headsets on the market. The display will be made of mesh material and will have swappable and adjustable Apple Watch band-like straps. The headset is lightweight, and it is projected to be lighter than most headsets on the market, making it more comfortable to use.

The mixed reality headgear will reportedly feature two high-resolution 4K micro OLED panels with up to 3,000 pixels per inch, as well as an external display that will provide exterior indicator information.

Apple is likely to equip the headset with more than a dozen optical cameras for mapping the area, monitoring the user, and displaying visual experiences. The headset will be able to capture realistic face movements in virtual reality apps and games, relaying them in video chats and other activities.

According to reports, eight of the cameras would be utilised for see-through augmented reality experiences. There will be cameras, for example, that can recognise people in the room and map surfaces and room dimensions, allowing virtual objects to be placed in front of and behind real-world objects for a seamless encounter between the real and the virtual.

The AR/VR headgear will use an operating system called xrOS, which stands for extended reality and reflects the device’s augmented and virtual reality functions. Apple is anticipated to develop an App Store for the headgear, with a focus on gaming, video streaming, and communication. Apple might collaborate with media partners to generate VR content, and there could be a VR FaceTime experience with Animojis that mimic face expressions.

The AR/VR headgear is projected to cost roughly $3,000, and the first iteration will be geared at developers, content makers, and experts rather than average customers. Apple could unveil the headset during the Worldwide Developers Conference, giving developers time to create apps for the device before its fall release. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it might be introduced as early as January 2023, but that appears to be a little optimistic.

iPhone refreshes occur every September and are among Apple’s most consistent product releases. We can always count on a new iPhone, and the iPhone 15 lineup is expected in 2023.

According to rumours, Apple will introduce the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, however the last device may be renamed the iPhone 15 Ultra to reflect its position as the highest-end iPhone available. The 6.7-inch iPhone 15 “Pro” variant may get features that the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro and the two ordinary iPhone 15 models may not have.

Apple
credit: macrumors

The iPhone 15 models are believed to be the same general sizes as the previous versions (Apple isn’t bringing back the 5.4-inch iPhone small), so we may expect two 6.1-inch iPhones and two 6.7-inch iPhones. We haven’t heard anything regarding major design changes as of yet, but there have been speculations of a new, rounded-off design similar to the case on the 2021 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

There has been speculation about a titanium chassis for the Pro models, as well as solid state volume and power buttons comparable to the Home button on Touch ID iPhones. Currently, iPhones employ mechanical buttons that physically depress, but a solid state button would use haptic feedback to simulate the experience of a button push.

Such feature would have Apple installing two more Taptic Engines on the edges of the iPhone 15 Pro models, but it might provide benefits such as increased water resistance. Apple is said to be abandoning Lightning in favour of USB-C, the same connector that is already used on Macs and iPads. USB-C will enable universal charging across much of Apple’s device lineup, as well as higher charging speeds on some models.

The iPhone 15 Pro variants are expected to offer data transfer speeds of up to 40Gb/s through USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt. However, this will be confined to the iPhone 15 Pro, with normal iPhone 15 devices continuing to retain USB 2.0 speeds limited to 480Mb/s.

The periscope camera technology is believed to be a big enhancement for the iPhone 15 models, but it may be limited to the high-end 6.7-inch iPhone 15 “Pro” or “Ultra” depending on the naming scheme.

According to rumours, only the high-end bigger iPhone will have space for periscope lens technology, which is zoom lens technology. The periscope lens will replace the telephoto lens, allowing for greater optical zoom. Apple is anticipated to add 6x optical zoom to the iPhone 14 Pro models, up from 3x in the existing ones.

Apple will employ A16 chips in normal iPhone 15 models, but iPhone 15 Pro models may feature Apple’s next-generation A17 chip, the first made on TSMC’s next-generation 3-nanometer node. 3nm chip technology will boost processing performance by 10 to 15% while lowering power consumption by up to 30%.

NVIDIA’s “Un-released” GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16 GB GPU Surfaces Online

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, previously one of the top graphics cards, has a long-lost sibling who never made its market debut. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, which we’ve seen in numerous EEC listings, appears to be legitimate or has existed for some time.

MEGAsizeGPU, a hardware leaker, has published several images and a GPU-Z screenshot of what appears to be the unreleased GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. But it’s a little perplexing. The images depict a GeForce RTX 3070 Founders Edition. The design and model name on the backplate support this.

The GPU-Z screenshot, on the other hand, exposes the specifications for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, but with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM rather than 8GB. We assume that a manufacturer repurposed the GeForce RTX 3070 cooler for this particular GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. However, we’ve already seen user hacks that double the memory capacity of the GeForce RTX 3070, so we wouldn’t be surprised if this GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB is a laboratory experiment from someone’s garage.

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB(Image credit: MEGAsizeGPU/Twitter)

The GA104 (Ampere) hardware utilised in the vanilla GeForce RTX 3070 Ti remains in the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB. It still has 6,144 CUDA cores, as well as 192 Tensor cores and 48 RT cores. However, the clock speeds appear to be different. While the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti has a base speed of 1,575 MHz and a boost clock of 1,770 MHz, the never-before-seen 16GB model has a base rate of 1,590 MHz and a boost clock of 1,800 MHz.

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, as the name suggests, has twice the memory of the regular GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

According to the leaked GPU-Z screenshot, the memory modules are different. We had assumed that the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB will use the same GDDR6X memory modules as the standard model. The GPU-Z screenshot, on the other hand, indicates differently. The 16GB model, on the other hand, is said to feature substantially slower GDDR6 memory modules.

GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB(Image credit: MEGAsizeGPU/Twitter)

The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti features 19 Gbps GDDR6X memory modules that communicate through a 256-bit interface to provide up to 608 GBps of memory bandwidth. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, on the other hand, is said to have 16 Gbps GDDR6 memory modules. However, because the 256-bit memory bus is retained, the graphics card only provides 512 GBps of memory bandwidth.

While the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB has quicker clock speeds and double the memory capacity, the Ampere graphics card has less memory bandwidth than the 8GB model. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen any leaked benchmarks for the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 16GB, thus its performance is unknown.

Apple reportedly considering cutting prices for its upcoming iPhone 15

Apple unveiled the new iPhone 14 series in September, with a slew of upgrades and additions. While the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max have been selling like hotcakes, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have not. According to the most recent reports, Apple is considering lowering the price of next year’s iPhone 15 and larger Plus in response to decreasing demand for the iPhone 14 and its ‘Plus’ edition. Scroll down to learn more about the topic.

The Cupertino giant thinking of cutting prices for its upcoming iPhone 15

As previously stated, demand for the basic iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus remains low in comparison to the ‘Pro’ variants. A yuex1122 on Naver reported the rumour, implying that Apple is considering lowering the price of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. While it appears unlikely, it may represent a move that should benefit Apple. This is because the corporation is increasing the price difference between the ordinary versions and the ‘Pro’ ones, and a larger price difference makes more sense for consumers.

Apple is still working over iPhone 15 series design changes

The iPhone 14 offers little to no advantage over the iPhone 13, which is one of the main reasons why people are considering purchasing the latter directly from Apple for $200 cheaper than the preceding. The iPhone 14 Plus costs $900 and has a larger screen and battery capacity than the original phone. Customers can just spend $200 more to upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which features significant modifications in terms of design, display, camera, A16 Bionic CPU, and much more.

According to a post by yeux1122 on Naver (translation), the flagging sales of the iPhone 14 Plus are “far beyond” even Apple’s lowest estimates and Apple is considering new strategies with the iPhone 15 to reverse the trend.

Apple plans its phone releases years in advance, so it’s unlikely to cancel its plans for the iPhone 15 Plus. However, Apple is “seriously” considering a price reduction […]

Yyeux1122 has a decent track record for leaks, accurately predicting the iPhone 14 Pro’s price, chip, and colors, as well as the 10th-gen iPad’s design changes and release date.

It also speculated on how much Apple would charge for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However, if Apple intends to reduce the price of the iPhone 15 Plus, it must also reduce the price of the iPhone 15. If the price is reduced from $900 to $800, the ‘Plus’ model will cost the same as the ordinary model. The normal iPhone 15 price would now be $700, the same as Apple charged for the iPhone 13 small.

ICC Player ranking is important in every year as it recognizes the hard work of cricketers. The system ranks the performance of international cricketers using a Points base system.

The players are rated on the Scale of 0 to 1000 points. If a cricketer’s performance is better than the previous year, his points are increased but if the performance is poor, their points decrease. It’s a dream for all the batters and bowlers to make it to the top of the ICC ranking table but only a few can make it happen.

Best XI of 2022 in World Football

0

Football doesn’t really follow the calendar, but 2022 is now at an end. And in this article, we will take a look at the best XI of 2022, featuring some of the players that impressed all throughout the year.

Best XI of 2022: Who makes the line-up?

GK: Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid)

The Belgian was given the Yashin Trophy for his performance in 2021/22, and he was one of the key players behind Real Madrid‘s La Liga and UCL title wins last year. His performances between the sticks have continued to be essential for Los Blancos this season too.

RB: Achraf Hakimi (PSG)

The Moroccan was outstanding in PSG’s league title win last year, and has carried over the form to this campaign. Moreover, the miraculous World Cup run with Morocco also helped establish him as the best right-back in the world right now.

CB: Gosko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)

The Croatian was outstanding throughout the World Cup, and also helped RB Leipzig win their first-ever trophy in the DFB Pokal. At only 20, Gvardiol is showing immense potential to develop into an elite defender down the line.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool)

After a quiet 2021, Van Dijk is back to his best. While he might not have been able to win the UCL with Liverpool, he still won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup with the Reds. As a result, he is the second central defender in the best XI of 2022.

LB: Theo Hernandez (AC Milan)

Hernandez was one of the most important players for AC Milan as they reclaimed the Serie A title. He was also very influential in France’s bid to defend their World Cup title, and is arguably the most in-form left-back in the world right now.

CM: Luka Modric (Real Madrid)

Despite being 37 years old, Modric is bossing the midfield like people a decade younger than him. He helped Real Madrid win their 14th UCL and the La Liga title, while also earning third place in the World Cup with the national team.

CDM: Casemiro (Real Madrid/Manchester United)

Although the Brazilian struggled a bit in getting adjusted to Manchester United, he is now showing exactly why the Red Devils signed him. The maestro of physical midfield is now one of the top midfielders in England, after conquering Spain.

RM: Lionel Messi (PSG)

What a revival Messi has had after last year. The Argentine is one of the most deserving players in the best XI of 2022, especially after completing football with the World Cup trophy in Qatar.

ST: Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund/Manchester City)

With 21 goals in 15 games, Haaland has been nothing short of phenomenal since his arrival in England. After making the switch from Dortmund this summer, the City number 9 is without a doubt the best in his position, finding the back of the net every week.

ST: Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

Benzema won his maiden Ballon d’Or on the back of a season which saw him emerge as a talisman for Real Madrid. His all-round performance in attack has helped him have the season of his life, alongside the recognition that he deserves so much.

LM: Kylian Mbappe (PSG)

Although he fell short of a second World Cup title, Mbappe has been proving why he is one of the best in the world with his display in big games. The France star was remarkable at the World Cup, and scored a hat-trick in the finals. Moreover, he also won the Ligue 1 Golden Boot last campaign, and is still in the running for a debut Champions League title this time around.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT review: The Decoy effect

0

The Red team has already launched the Radeon RX 7900 series for some time now consisting of the $899 priced Radeon RX 7900 XT and the absolute flagship Radeon RX 7900 XTX that should retail for $999 but cannot be found. While we have reviewed the latter and found out to be an amazing card in terms of raw 4K performance but essentially lacks the ray tracing performance when you compare it against the RTX 4080.

Now, obviously, anyone and everyone will go for the flagship card by paying $999 GPU which has made the RX 7900 XTX rare but if you find the same it makes no sense to buy the RX 7900 XT unless AMD reduces prices in future.

So, suppose you get this RX 7900 XT for cheap and you think of actually buying, here is our review suggesting the complete performance of the GPU and whether it’s worth buying or not:

Specifications of AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT

AMD’s new Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX GPUs have a pretty similar design with almost the same dimensions when you compare with the RX 6900 XT reference GPU from last year but with that black accent which makes it look much more masculine.

On the other hand, when you compare both the two new AMD GPUs, the flagship RX 7900 XTX is a tad bit fat and heavy thanks to more memory as well as transistors, and the RX 7900 XT feels more of an RX 6800 XT in terms of weight. Both have triple fans and now with increased thermal limits, these AMD GPUs can be pushed further.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT review: The Decoy effect

While the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX draws 350W of power ideally and nearly goes about 450W during gaming, its brother RX 7900 XT draws only 315W. Sporting up to 84 CUs based on the new RDNA3 architecture, this card has a lesser boost clock speed of up to 2400MHz.

The GPU features up to 5376 stream processors, a 20GB GDDR6 memory with up to 20Gbps speeds, this results in an effective memory bandwidth of 800GB/s and finally results in a whopping 52TFLOPs of peak single precision performance. Again, there is very minimal improvement in the number of Ray Accelerators but we now have 6 Shader Engines, a memory bandwidth of up to 960 GB/s alongside AV1 Decode/Encode support.

Productivity

While not many will actually use this AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT primarily for productivity work but with 20GB GDDR6 memory, it could be a nice gaming/productivity option. But does it stand against the RTX 4080? Well, here in terms of mature productivity numbers NVIDIA has taken the lead in the last few years but AMD isn’t bad though if you get the GPU for cheap.

Here are the synthetic benchmarks for your reference to give you a better idea of how this card performs for professional work:

As you see in the benchmarks, in some of them both the RX 7900 XT and XTX GPUs have very close performance while in some you have a 10-15% difference. So, essentially here to spend a few extra bucks on the RX 7900 XTX makes better sense and it’s needless to say the RX 7900 XT is a decoy card only.

Now, if you are the creator and need the best performance, these days NVIDIA GPUs are better in terms of rendering speeds and content creation, so, spending on an RTX 4090 for the long run is a better investment to be honest if you ask me from the productivity standpoint. However, if someone gets two RX 7900 XTX for $1998 could indeed be more powerful, so, this is completely up to you.

Gaming

The main attraction of this $899 GPU is the gaming performance and talking about that this graphics card is up to 10-15% slower than the RX 7900 XTX. Be it any game you take the 4K gaming performance is really impressive and when you compare it against the last-gen, the improvement is decent.

Here are some gaming benchmarks in 15 of the most demanding titles which will give you a better idea about the raw performance you can expect from this graphics card:

  • World War Z_Core i7-12700KF + RX 7900 XT_TechnoSports.co.in

As you see in most of the high-end games like Control, Unchartered, and Watch Dogs Legion, this Radeon RX 7900 XT performs quite well but somewhat less than the RX 7900 XTX. For anyone who wants to enjoy 4K gaming comfortably without stressing about the ray tracing numbers, then this GPU is a serious one you should indeed consider.

So, why we haven’t included the data of other GPUs and the RTX 4080? Well, we are planning for a mega comparison between the RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT and RTX 4080, so do follow us if you wanna see that detailed comparison.

Cyberpunk 2077_Core i7-12700KF + RX 7900 XT_TechnoSports.co.in

Talking about ray tracing performance, the best game to use for comparison has to be Cyberpunk 2077, which even in 2022 is a hard game to even touch 4K 60 FPS at Ray Tracing set to Ultra. In this game, the GPU was able to give decent numbers when ray tracing was not used but when RT was turned on there is a huge drop in performance, especially at High or Ultra preset making the game really unplayable.

So, in those cases, you will require FSR to help you, but we expected better results from AMD especially when you compare with the RTX 40-series which has slightly better ray tracing performance. If someone wants to enjoy a ray-traced performance at 4K should probably opt for the RTX 4080 which we also reviewed recently.

While we would love this RX 7900 XT’s price to drop to $799 maybe sometime later and only then buying this GPU would actually make sense. However, though the gaming performance is good for most triple-A titles but doesn’t guarantee 100FPS+ in all games like the RX 7900 XTX does at 4K Max settings.

AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT review: The Decoy effect

Verdict

Now, let’s cut to the chase, should you buy this $899 priced AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT over its brother flagship? Well, no if you are getting the RX 7900 XTX for a slightly more price and that will be a good decision because for just a few extra bucks who wouldn’t like to have a 10-15% better performance?

This GPU is nothing but a decoy card from AMD to make the RX 7900 XTX a better buy and that is pretty intentional. So, while we reviewers get two cards to review, personally, I will surely be more inclined towards the flagship and so are the people, now, to be very honest recommending this decoy card is very stupid unless its price decreases over time.

It’s not that this RX 7900 XT is a bad GPU though, with good 4K performance, it too is a flagship of its kind and has improved a lot compared to the older RX 6000 series. However, in terms of price-to-performance ratio, it somewhere lags behind and after knowing all this I will keep the choice to you if you want to buy this GPU or not.
