Chinese company Oppo took the wraps off of its Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro during a release event held in China on Thursday, May 23rd. The phones come with quad-curved displays and 50-megapixel triple rear cameras, as well as 50-megapixel front cameras.
Oppo offers the other new phones with a minimum of 8GB RAM/256GB Storage and an OPPO ColorOS 14 based on Android 14 OS; both these models also carry an IP65 rating for dust/splash resistance. The new Oppo Reno 12 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition, while the Reno 12 Pro gets a boost from the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition. The two models are available now for pre-order and will launch in China later this month.

In terms of pricing, the base Oppo Reno 12 starts at CNY 2,699 (around ₹31,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with the 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 256GB options priced at CNY 2,999 (around ₹34,500) each. The top-tier 16GB + 512GB model is listed at CNY 3,199 (roughly ₹36,800). Meanwhile, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro begins at CNY 3,399 (approximately ₹39,000) for the 12GB + 256GB configuration, with the 16GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB variants priced at CNY 3,699 (about ₹42,500) and CNY 3,999 (around ₹46,000), respectively.
Oppo is now taking pre-orders for the two handsets on its own website and other online retailers in China, and sales will begin on May 31st. The base Oppo Reno 12 is available in Ebony Black, Millennium Silver, and Soft Peach; the Reno 12 Pro comes in Champagne Gold, Ebony Black, and Silver Magic Purple.
Coming to the display, both Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro flaunt a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1.5K) curved OLED panel with a resolution of 2,788×1,296 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate, with up to 1,200 nits peak brightness, 2,160Hz PWM dimming rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
At the heart, base Oppo Reno 12 comes with a 4nm octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC, whereas the Pro model features a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition chipset. The phones max out with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The new sensors can achieve a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with up to 20x digital zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. They drawable power from 5,000mAh battery units with support for 1000W SuperVOOC fast-charging tech and all IP65-rated dust and splash-resistant enclosures as well; in-display fingerprint scanners, and provide connectivity options including 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth version-5.4
