Oppo has at last launched the Oppo A55 in India after teasing the device for quite some time now. The latest budget smartphone from the brand features pretty basic specs, Oppo has clearly given more emphasis on the design aspect of this product than the specs.
So what are the specs of the Oppo A55?
The Oppo A55 comes with a 6.51″ LCD panel with a resolution of 1600 x 720p, a 1500:1 contrast ratio, 16.7 million colors, 269 PPI, and a decent refresh rate of 60Hz. It has a touch-sampling rate of 120Hz.
The display can cover up to 70% of the NTSC color gamut, and it has a peak brightness of 550 nits on a sunny day and NEG T2X-1 glass protection.
Coming to the camera of the Oppo A55, it has a camera island design, as opposed to other Oppo devices in the market, it is IPX4 certified for splash resistance as well. The camera has a triple-sensor setup with a primary 50MP sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
It has a 16MP sensor integrated into the punch-hole camera for selfies and video calls.
The Oppo A55 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC and is paired with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB storage configurations. If necessary, one can expand the storage further via a MicroSD card all the way up to 256 GB.
Coming to the connectivity options available on the Oppo A55, it has dual-SIM, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS(GPS, A-GPS, BDS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS), it has a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The device also has essential sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, proximity sensor, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Oppo A55 runs ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 OS and has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It is available in Starry Black and Rainbow Blue colors.
The Oppo A55 will retail for 15,490 INR for the 4GB RAM+64GB variant and 17,490 INR for the 6GB+128GB variant. The device will be available for purchase from the 3rd of October via Amazon India, Oppo E-Store, and other offline retailers.
