Oppo Find X8 Design Leaked; Flaunts Flat Sides and Redesigned Camera Module

For the first time, we have begun to receive leaks of Oppo’s Find X8 design, which appears will feature a stark new appearance for its base model. There is no telling if this design will be adopted for the ultra-premium Find X8 Ultra, but at least it’s quite a different look from the modem-like fate of the Find X7 Ultra inspired by the otherwise updated design obviously on its predecessor–the one used in revival figure with a similar scheme.

The design shown in the leaked image appears similar to that of the iPhone 15 Pro, a significant shift from Oppo’s more unique style on the Find X7 Ultra.

The Upcoming Oppo Find X8 Design

The image was sourced from Chinese microblogging site Weibo and offers a good look at what’s purported to be the Oppo Find X8. Fortunately, the image is sharp and distinctly shows the top half of the phone.

Oppo has clearly overhauled the design, and nothing seems to be in common with any of its predecessors. It looks like the Oppo Find X8 will sport flat sides with a taper on them, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro. Metal sides, presumably titanium with accent edges for mics and speakers plus a three-stage alert slider on the right side.

Previous models had the LED flash as well just placed outside of the camera module. Notably, the camera module appears to be flatter than it is on Find X7 Ultra which first appeared with a large circular module compared to this new design bringing back an overall rounded square form. Do note that three rear cameras can be spotted inside this module. That said, we cannot ascertain whether the back will be encased in fake leather or your run-of-the-mill glass.

One more thing that can be noticed from the image is not present, as there seems to be no 3D curved displays used by Oppo. The Find X8 is expected to include a flat display (like the more recent Google Pixel 9 series from where Oppo allegedly plans to source these panels) because it has very obvious side edges.

Earlier reports claimed that the Find X8 series is expected to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC. Both models are expected to feature displays with over 1.5K resolution. Another leak suggests the Find X8 could feature a flat 6.7-inch display, while the Ultra model may have a slightly larger 6.8-inch micro-curved display. Additionally, both devices are rumored to house 6,000mAh batteries. Oppo is anticipated to launch the Find X8 series in October this year.
