As per reports initially mentioned by 9to5Google, an FCC listing may offer insights into how OnePlus plans to achieve battery performance with its smartwatch. The listing indicates that the OnePlus Watch 2 will feature a battery capacity of 500mAh. This capacity is said to be around 64 percent larger than that of the Pixel Watch 2 and 20 percent bigger than the battery in the Galaxy Watch 6 (44mm). In a forum post, OnePlus revealed that its Watch 2 aims to provide a battery life of up to 100 hours in ‘Smart Mode’, potentially setting a new standard for smartwatches. Although details, about the ‘Smart Mode’ functionality are not clear yet, it seems evident that the watch will achieve lasting battery life when used in this mode. Based on the information provided in the FCC document it seems that the upcoming OnePlus Watch 2 will come with a pin-based charging mechanism that includes four pins located at the bottom for connection, to a charging adapter.

In contrast to the previous OnePlus Watch and OnePlus Nord Watch, which operated on a custom OS, the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 SoC suggests that the upcoming smartwatch will likely run on WearOS, providing reassurance to loyal followers of the brand. Recent leaks have also supported this notion, indicating that the new device will be significantly more capable than its predecessor.

OnePlus recently unveiled the design of its forthcoming smartwatch, which will be offered in two color variants: Black Steel and Radiant Steel. Images of the wearable showcase a sizable circular display complemented by two pushers on the right side of the case. OnePlus asserts that the Watch 2’s stainless steel case and sapphire crystal-protected display will enhance durability, positioning it as a robust timepiece option.
