OnePlus Rolls Out OxygenOS 15 for the OnePlus 12

OxygenOS 15 started rolling out globally to the OnePlus 12 earlier today, and now, it’s officially available for your phone. The update is coming a week earlier than scheduled. The update takes the OnePlus 12 to ColorOS 14.1 and is now available for download across India, North America, Europe, and other global regions — featuring a revamped UI with billions of customization options, added modes, and advanced photo editing tools.

To start, OnePlus adds visual updates across the OxygenOS 15 UI, with a redesigned home screen full of new icons and an “arc design” that creates common curvature between elements for a cohesive look. They also feature themed flux, where the user can choose system wallpapers or use a photo that they just took. Beyond that, customizations are available on the always-on display (AOD), lock screen, and home screen with clock color blending, glass textures, AI depth effects, and blurred wallpapers to give a more personalized look.

The OxygenOS 15 update also improves animation and rendering performance by utilizing a new “system graphics engine” with advanced parallel processing to give users smooth visuals even in graphics-intensive apps. Third-party apps, also widgets, and folders now share swipe consistency for a seamless experience. This update includes a reversible photo editing feature where users can save their edits or revert to past versions of any edit. Fluid Cloud has evolved to become synced with third-party apps like Spotify, Swiggy, and Zomato in real-time. Alerts from these apps can expand into detailed cards, and users can swipe the status bar to access live activities.

New gestures are available for the floating window, including swipes to adjust, enlarge, or hide it. Split windows can be resized by dragging the divider or tapping to expand the view. Additionally, OnePlus has introduced a feature that separates quick settings and notifications, similar to iOS. Other updates include a charging limit to prevent overcharging, a new battery protection alert, enhanced Holo Audio for calls, categorization in Private Space, a hidden apps shortcut on the home screen, and an optimized multi-network experience.
