OnePlus Open 2 Design Leaked in Renders: Key Changes and Updates Revealed Ahead of 2025 Launch
While thicker than its predecessor, the OnePlus Open 2 has a larger yet slimmer overall build as well. The device is also said to measure just 10mm on the thickness front, down from the Open’s 11.7mm, which could make it the slimmest folding phone around when it arrives. The most important upgrade, however, is the IPX8 water resistance rating, which is a bump compared to the OnePlus Open’s IPX4.
Regarding specifications, the OnePlus Open 2 might feature an 8-inch 2K LTPO AMOLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.4-inch AMOLED cover display. It may come with the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, an upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 used in the original version. The device comes with new multitasking and AI features and could feature 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage with OxygenOS 15-based platform based on Android 15.
The rear camera setup is expected to feature three 50MP lenses: a main camera, an ultrawide sensor, and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front cameras may include a 32MP sensor and a 20MP sensor. The phone could also be equipped with a 5,900mAh battery, supporting 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The OnePlus Open 2 is believed to be a rebranded version of the OPPO Find N5 foldable, which has yet to be officially released. The phone is expected to launch in China in early 2025, with a global release following shortly after. Given the availability of the original model in India, the Open 2 is likely to make its way to the country as well, with two memory configurations and two color options, including a black/grey variant.
