OnePlus has launched various limited edition phones, including the OnePlus 5T Star Wars, OnePlus 6 Avengers Edition, OnePlus 6T McLaren, OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren, and OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 edition. Now, the company has finally confirmed the long-rumoured OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN through an official listing on its website. OnePlus has also revealed the OnePlus Nord 2 PAC-MAN edition price in India. The limited-edition phone will be available in India and Europe only. While it is yet to reveal the official availability, OnePlus is running a contest on its website for fans to win the phone. OnePlus’s head of product portfolio, Oliver Zhang has also shared some key details about the phone’s software with Android Authority.
Zhang said, “OnePlus deeply customized the hardware and software of the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition, infusing it with endless fun and entertainment from the classic PAC-MAN arcade game. The OnePlus Nord 2 x PAC-MAN Edition is the first OnePlus phone with a gamified user experience at its core. We hope users will be as excited to delve into this phone as they were when they played PAC-MAN for the first time.” The new report has revealed the key specifications and pricing of the Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition for India.
OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition specifications (Expected)
OnePlus Nord 2 PAC-MAN Edition specifications could remain the same as the standard model. The handset sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 2400×1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC paired with ARM G77 MC9 GPU coupled with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB internal storage.
On the outside, the phone has a special glow-in-the-dark design that outlines the Pac-Man maze in neon. OnePlus states that it is possible with a “dual film colour, material, and finish (CMF).” Users will notice the Pac-Man maze shine in neon in a dark room/ area.
The Nord 2 has a “gamified” user interface. OnePlus has introduced some software tricks that are inspired by the retro video game. The customization includes custom OxygenOS icons, which are inspired by retro video games. It also has exclusive static and live wallpapers along with animations. The Nord 2’s special variant will also come with PAC-MAN 256 pre-installed. In addition to this, the device will have a custom filter in the camera app. Zhang did not share any details regarding the filter.
There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone comes with a triple camera setup on the back, with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 119.7-degree field of view, EIS, and a 2MP mono lens.
OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition pricing(Expected)
The publication claims that the OnePlus Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition’s price in India will be Rs 37,999. It will be priced at £499 and €529 in the UK and Europe, respectively. For context, the existing Nord 2 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is available for Rs 34,999 in India. While the report has no information on the launch date of the Nord 2 x Pac-Man Edition, it is expected to break cover as early as this month.
