OnePlus merges with OPPO although OnePlus will operate independently in India

OnePlus has merged with OPPO although it has stated that they will be operating independently in India

OnePlus is looking to make the best possible use of OPPO’s vast offline reach in India, especially to ensure that their Internet of Things (IoT) business in India in order to alter the go-to-market strategy.

OPPO and OnePlus have earlier teamed up their resources and performed integrated research and development in China to create better products. However, after the founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, took extra credibility to oversee the marketing and product manufacturing strategy for both brands.

The two legendary smartphone brands merged, OnePlus has now become an Oppo  sub-brand

Pete Lau stated “Since then, we have integrated a number of our teams together with Oppo to better streamline our operations and capitalize on additional shared resources. After seeing a positive impact from those changes, we’ve decided to further integrate our organization with Oppo.”

With their new partnership with OPPO, both the parties will enjoy an expansion and will be able combine both the organization’s resources to create even better products and will be hopefully be successful in their new venture.

CMR head of industry intelligence stated “By tapping into, and leveraging Oppo’s R&D capabilities, OnePlus will be able to attain economies of scale, and potentially poised to grow better in the smartphone plus IoT connected living era.”

“OnePlus products and regional markets will operate with business as usual. In India and other markets where both companies operate, we will continue to compete in the same way as before.”
