OnePlus Ace 5 TAF Certification Hints at Bigger Battery; Front Design Shared Ahead of Launch
The OnePlus Ace 5 will come with a flat display with ultra-slim bezels and a metal middle frame. It will feature a central hole-punch cutout on the AMOLED display to house the selfie camera, with the right edge housing the volume rocker and power button. While no other details about the phone were shared in the post, the device is expected to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 5 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is expected to deliver high-end performance and improved power efficiency.
This means its global counterpart could be the OnePlus 13R, and as per leaks the OnePlus Ace 5 will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1264×2780 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 450 PPI. The camera system will have a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP selfie camera. The phone will also feature a big 6,000mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging and will run ColorOS 15 on the Android 15 OS.
In terms of connectivity, it promises 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and infrared remote control. The OnePlus Ace 5 will be available in a 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The new smartphone has made an appearance on the UFCS certification, showing a rated capacity of 6,285mAh and a typical capacity of 6,500mAh. This device will feature a USB Type-C port for charging.
The 6,500mAh battery will be paired with the Chinese version of the model, the OnePlus 13R and while the handset will still carry the same unit in the global model, there are reports suggesting that the global variant might come with a 6,000mAh battery, reflecting trends seen in other brands like Realme and iQOO, who have opted for smaller batteries for their Indian models.
