OnePlus officially introduced the OnePlus Ace 3, positioned as a sub-flagship model exclusively for the Chinese market on January 4. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, it competes with other devices like the Realme GT 5, Redmi K70, iQOO Neo 9, and Honor 90 GT in China. Below are the details regarding the specifications, features, and pricing of the OnePlus Ace 3.
The All New OnePlus Ace 3
The design of the Ace 3 closely resembles recent OnePlus flagship and Ace-branded phones, such as the Ace 2 and Ace 2 Pro. Featuring a curved-edge OLED panel with a centered punch-hole on the front and a round camera module with a triple camera unit on the back, the device measures 163.30 x 75.27 x 8.8mm and weighs 207 grams. Available color options include Star Black, Moon Sea Blue, and Sand Gold.
The Ace 3 boasts a 6.7-inch OLED ProXDR panel supplied by BOE, offering a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 10-bit colors. The display, with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits similar to the OnePlus 12, is optimized to deliver an enhanced gaming experience. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, the same one powering last year’s OnePlus 11, the Ace 3 stands out as the first phone with this chip to feature a substantial 5,500mAh battery. Despite supporting 100W wired charging, wireless charging is notably absent.
The device offers configurations of up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1 TB of storage, running on ColorOS 14-based Android 14. Additional features include dual SIM support, 5G capability, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, dual stereo speakers, an x-axis liner motor, and an alert slider. For photography, the OnePlus Ace 3 features a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies, while the rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera with OIS support, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
In terms of pricing, the OnePlus Ace 3 is available in three variants in China, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage for ¥2,599 (~$365), 16GB RAM + 512GB storage for ¥2,999 (~$420), and 16GB RAM + 1TB storage for ¥3,499 (~$490). It is set to be available for purchase starting January 8, with pre-orders currently open. However, the OnePlus Ace 3 will remain exclusive to the Chinese market. A rebranded version called the OnePlus 12R will be introduced alongside the OnePlus 12 on January 23 in markets such as North America, Europe, and India.
