OnePlus Ace 2 Pro: Showcasing Wi-Fi 7 and Sony IMX890 Main Sensor with OIS

OnePlus has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 series smartphone. The official presentation of the forthcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is set to take place on August 16 in China. It’s worth noting that OnePlus introduced the standard Ace 2 model as the OnePlus 11R in global markets. However, there is no information yet regarding the global launch of the new smartphone.

OnePlus has been gradually unveiling details about the forthcoming device through a series of teasers. The brand, owned by the BBK group, recently provided insights into the display and battery specifications of the upcoming smartphone. In previous teasers, OnePlus had affirmed the inclusion of a maximum of 24GB of RAM in the smartphone. A recent teaser from OnePlus has also disclosed details about the latest Wi-Fi and mobile network bands, in addition to primary camera specifications for the new smartphone.

OnePlus has confirmed that the smartphone will feature a primary camera with a 50MP Sony IMX 890 sensor, featuring Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). This device will also inherit OPPO’s flagship image algorithm. It’s worth noting that the OnePlus 11 was the pioneer in incorporating support for the yet-to-be-released Wi-Fi 7 protocol. During its launch event, OnePlus revealed that it would enable the Wi-Fi 7 protocol through a future update, promising significantly improved Wi-Fi speeds. This upcoming protocol boasts enhanced stability, reduced latency, and fourfold improved performance compared to Wi-Fi 6E. The Ace 2 Pro smartphone will also feature an n28 and n8 5G modem, which should result in better signal reception.

The forthcoming device will come equipped with stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos and spatial audio. OnePlus has also confirmed the presence of Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and an IR Blaster. The smartphone will feature a flagship bionic motor that boasts a 139% improvement compared to standard motors. The company asserts that the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be the first widely available smartphone with 24GB of RAM. The device will draw its power from a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, married to the swift companionship of LPDDR5X RAM and the capacious embrace of UFS 4.0 storage.

The device will house an ultra-thin optical fingerprint scanner positioned 2cm above the standard location. The smartphone’s specifications also include a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, as confirmed earlier by OnePlus. The display will feature Rainwater touch control technology, allowing it to respond to touch even in wet conditions. Finally, the smartphone will be fueled by a 5000mAh battery with support for 150W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology.
