OnePlus 9 RT is launching in October: Report

According to a recent report from the insider sources of Android Central, OnePlus is not done with the launches of smartphones for this year. According to reports, the company is yet to reveal one more smartphone for this year. We have already heard from the rumors that there will be no OnePlys 9T this year, but it seems like the company has some different plans, it will launch a new smartphone named OnePlus 9RT. This will have a modest up-gradation over the OnePlus 9R and will be limited to select markets. The launch is expected in the month of October.

“There will be two Nord launches, but no new devices aimed at the high-end segment.” says Android Central. The launch will be limited to India and China, similar to the 9R. Similar to the exclusivity of the OnePlus 9R, the OnePlus 9RT or any other numbered series will not be available in Europe or North America this year.

Similar to the OnePlus 9R the upcoming RT model will feature the same 120Hz AMOLED panel and will come with a higher-binned version of the Snapdragon 870, which is not Snapdragon 888, and a 4500mAh battery with 65W charging. So it seems that most of the specifications of this smartphone will remain the same as its predecessor. Being a camera-centric smartphone the OnePlus 9RT will feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary rear camera sensor along with wide-angle and depth-sensing lenses.

Apart from this, the OnePlus 9RT will be the first device from the company to run on OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 out of the box.
