For years, Oxygen OS has been one of the most integral products in OnePlus catalog. Although its hardware is usually great, its software is the main reason a lot of fans refuse to switch. In 2020, we first saw OxygenOS 11, the latest version of the Android skin. As one would surmise from the name, it’s based on Android 11.
OnePlus is one of the leading smartphone maker companies that is well-known for its outstanding and remarkable products. But now, according to the latest information, Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 making WhatsApp an unusable problem.
OxygenOs 11 is currently causing problems on the OnePlus 6 and 6T. OnePlus 6 and 6T users cannot download media from WhatsApp or access existing photos and videos as per a report.
According to AndroidCentral, after switching to OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 6T, some users are unable to download media from WhatsApp – including older photos and videos already stored on the phone. And there is another problem that making a backup on Google Drive also didn’t work like attempting to back up the chat history on Drive also failed. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn’t make things any better.
Resetting the system and using the one older local backup did not solve the problem either, as one was not able to download media even after a reboot. This is said to be a known issue in OxygenOS 11 on the OnePlus 6 and 6T report added.
The fact that a core feature of WhatsApp has not worked on these devices for such a long time is incredible and OnePlus needs to address this issue. There is currently no answer from OnePlus on this issue.
