OnePlus is preparing to introduce its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 12, and in line with its annual tradition, the company is anticipated to unveil the R variant of its flagship model as well. While extensive details about the flagship OnePlus 12 have surfaced, information regarding the OnePlus 12R remains relatively limited. Recently, the OnePlus 12R made an appearance on the CQC certification website with the model number CPH2609.
The Upcoming OnePlus 12R
The CQC listing discloses that the device will support rapid 100W charging. Additionally, the same model number for the OnePlus 12R was identified on Camera FV 5, unveiling specifications related to the device’s camera setup.
The forthcoming OnePlus 12R is expected to showcase a triple rear camera arrangement, consisting of two 50MP sensors with a 24.6mm focal length, f1.8 aperture, and OIS+EIS stabilization. These sensors will produce 12.6MP pixel-binned images. The third camera will feature an 8MP sensor with an 18.5mm focal length, f2.2 aperture, and EIS support, capturing 7.4MP pixel-binned images. For selfies, the device will incorporate a 16MP front camera with a 25.2mm focal length, f2.4 aperture, and EIS support, generating 4MP pixel-binned images.
Furthermore, the device has been listed on Singapore’s IMDA certification website, confirming its connectivity features such as 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC, although specific specifications are not detailed.
While comprehensive specifications for the OnePlus 12R remain elusive, there are indications that it may be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3. Design-wise, expectations point towards similarities with the OnePlus 11R but with notable improvements.
Speculations also suggest that the OnePlus 12R will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and will run on OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, straight out of the box. The device is anticipated to boast a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
A recent global marketing campaign inadvertently hinted at the potential launch date for the OnePlus 12R, suggesting a release on January 23rd in India. Although official confirmation of this date is pending, tipster Max Jambor also aligns with a launch later in January.
